A close friend of mine had a bit of a mishap with her lap top? The port where she plugs in the charger…the metal pin in the lap top itself, broke off…and now she can’t plug the charger in it.
Can this be repaired? can just the charger port on the lap top be fixed? i would think it should be able to…i can’t see having to replace an entire computer because such a tiny part broke.

anybody know somebody that works at a place, or know of any place at all that does this kind of hardware repair on lap tops/computers?

You have to open the laptop. Desolder the plug and solder in a replacement.
Not a huge deal but a PITA.
^^^^Amen to that. Common problem on the Presario’s. Had to fix mine twice then decided fuck that. Thats why magnetic power cords are so handy (well, one of the reasons anyway).
Compaq Presario? Just buy a new laptop.
I can fix it, but it will cost you about $200 (it is a PITA).
