our problem is that candidates are selected with the idea in mind of “who is most able to defeat the incumbent”, not “who is right for america”.
If the current presidential election was McCain vs Dean, no matter what your political affiliation, you’d have to have some respect for both guys. They’ve always been clear about what they are about, et cetera… Bush and Kerry both flip-flop. In 2000, debating against Gore (and the Clinton policy of sending troops around the world), Bush said we shouldn’t be in the habit of “nation building”.
We’re building two right now.
Let’s face facts: Bush and Kerry are the bottom of their respective barrels. I’m fairly Liberal, and I can name at least a dozen Republicans I like more than Kerry. The same goes for Bush. The only way we’re ever going to have a better choice than “the lesser of two evils” is to back candidates we actually LIKE during the primaries. I know living in PA that the primaries are usually decided before the vote comes around to us, and that really should be reformed in some way, but it’s not like we take much of an interest anyway.

I’m a registered democrat with mostly republican views. Odd yes, but its what I am. I’m with ShalerPunk, I vote for the crook with ideals that align as closely as possible to mine. Admitting that they are crooks going into the voting process I think makes it alot less painless.
Arlen Specter is odd, but I voted for him. Anyone that runs a campaign that says “if you like bush, vote specter. if you dont, vote me” is retarded. Even in a democratic stronghold state like PA, a campaign like that is fuckin retarded. ignorance is bliss. The only time that partial birth abortions are implemented are when the mother is gonna die or incur serious injury from having the child. Incestuous and rape babies may also be included in that, im not sure. But either way less than 1% of all abortions are partial birth abortions.
No one should have the right to tell someone that they should have to have a baby that may harm them badly or kill them, was the product of incest, or rape. If you dont believe that, then perhaps you should /yourself.
