Being the dick that I am I passed him on the right, got back in front of him, and proceeded to slow down until he finally got over.

I’m a dick too then I guess, because I do the same thing. My deceleration rate is usually determined by how long I got stuck behind them, and how slow they were going.

(Their speed - my speed) * time stuck = deceleration rate
