Why didn't Dodge use all u-bolts on the from axle

I just got dome fixin my flat tire ( 35" baha claw ) and when I go to pull out of the lot, I hit the brakes to look up and down the road. Then BANG. Sounds like my tire just hit the fender or something. I roll forward and sumise that that wasn’t it, so I wrote it off as a big truck clunk. At my next stop I have a look under the front to see if anything is amiss. voila. On the right side of my front axle (dana 44) there is one u-bolt one the outer side of the spring, and on the inner side two bolts thread directly into the diff. Well, the one’s that thread into the diff snapped clean off.

Worked on the sob for a couple of hours, but I’m going to have to pull my whole axle to drill it. I have a snap on 90 degree drill but its a 3/8ths. This sucks

i am use to the clunk’s … But that is why i don’t work on or own mopar…

That sucks man. What year dodge is it?
