Why is NA RWD BRZ the same price as a turbo AWD WRX?

Or we have the frs with a Boss 302 in it.

You can’t even buy a Mustang now with less than 300hp 4cylinder or 6cylinder

If this thing had 280-290hp with a turbo motor it would be an amazing value.

Every car company is raising HP year after year and they decided to be lame with this car.

Looks do not match horsepower. It doesn’t even line up with what Subaru has always offered, just odd to me.

The BRZ has an FA20, which was used in the Forester turbocharged (and not) without direct injection. I believe the original DI for the FA20 was designed by Toyota.

Not to mention a Fiesta ST is faster than a BRZ…

I enjoy my BRZ.

HP =/= fun.

same here. in the spring im going to do header and e85/93 tune which will be 40hp/tq up on stock (e85). should be enough to make it reasonably quick which is the only thing its lacking

Driving anything over 100hp that is all sporty and manual is ‘fun’ and feels quick

That being said most people also enjoy being able to accelerate faster than soccer moms

I’m just enjoying doing mad siqqqqq drifts bruh.

It’s all fun an dandy owning a fast car… But to be honest I hardly even notice it.

BRZ costs more probably due to supply/demand versus the WRX. Otherwise, It really shouldn’t cost the same.

I test drove the FRS when it first came out and enjoyed the ride and performance. my Z3 feels the same performance wise but is better handling then the FRS, my opinion tho
I have been on some curvy back roads against a BRZ and was not impressed at all when I passed him with ease, then lost site of him in my rearview under a mile. but he was young and haven’t seen that car in my area so he prolly just got ahold of it, not having seat time to be confident to push it hard.

as much as I like the Z3 it twists around like a wet noodle compared to the BRZ and the balance of the Z3 leaves a lot to be desired. a total spatula vs. a chef’s knife IMHO

I forget my Miata only has 6hp until I need to pass people on the thruway. This is why I’m going FI sometime this year.

That being said, I did not feel this way about the BRZ when I test drove it last summer.

That new WRX is hideous. It doesn’t even come in a hatchback!

exactly, though i miss my sti, honestly, i wouldn’t get rid of the frs for it.

these are not cars to talk about how fast it is in a straight line, if you want that go look at other cars. the frs is about the driving experience. IMO next to the S2000 its the best i’ve driven yet

Honestly after not driving my frs for about a month and driving a civic si and a few other cars, I forgot how awesome it handles and how fun it really is to drive. For a sexy looking, fun car to drive. They are worth the money. If you want something fast go buy a big v8

its funny you say that cause I’ve only heard I6 z3 owners complain about the balance and most have owned the I4 z3 rave about the balance. I’m running spacers and coilovers on mine so I don’t have an issue taking a recommended 30mph turn at 65-70mph unless I have the wife riding along then all I hear is bitching hahahaha

a good friend had a brand new 2.5 when I was in college. I drove it a lot, first stock, then with coilovers. it was good for its age, but even the Z4 felt a lot stiffer.

i know its slightly more expensive but why not get a 370z over a brz?

looks like starting price is 29.9k

and yeah its 400lbs heavier but its also a bump of 130hp

BECAUSE HANDLING

Because the Internet says a brz/frs is cool and the only non Miata you’re allowed to buy if you want to be cool
