im not a fan of the retro idea for cars. Why not just give them a whole new name so people arent trying to compare cars that are 30-40 production years apart. Whats so wrong with them just having a totally new car? Is it so people can get boners over saying yea man i have a GTO… er charger er what ever cars came back from the DEAD. they stopped making the origionals at one point in time for a reason, and im sure its not because they were selling like hott cakes!
Car styling nowadays is repulsive. And I agree that bringing a car back like a GTO and having have not look anything like the original is lame and they should be badged as something different. At least the new Mustangs have kept true to the old bodylines for the most part.
^^^ whats even worse is when a company does SHITTY retro style
for example, the “2008 gto” concept
also… the 96 body style mustangs … with those rounded out side scoops … FUCKING GAY … the car as a whole is cool … but the scoops were a piss poor excuse for retro style. if i ever owned one id be forced to cut shit apart and square it off a bunch
I don’t care what they call it. It’s the price tag that bothers me. 10 grand more for a Camaro that looks like a GTP??? (I know, I know, the goat’s better in eleventy-billion ways…)
If I were in that market I’d be all sorts of pissed off at the General for making me buy a moosewang GT for 6-10 grand less.
