Use the HP recovery Cds on new hard drive, and then take the new hard drive and put in my computer.

should work… those recovery cd’s are beat if you aren’t going to put it inot the correct cpu… i’d honestly just install xp if you have a p-300+ and 64+ of ram
im putting the hard drive in a different comp.
