I like it after playing for a week or so… clear toolbars are neat, some new features… new fades and browsing… mspaint is still kicking, default filetype is .png … has a new feature UAP to notify for root settings, almost redhatish.
the icons look like they were stolen from an apple.
it just looks like a skinned xp machine.
does it run fast on say 256mb of ram compared to xp or is it a memory pig like xp compared to 98? 128mb of ram on 98 was good but barely enough for xp.
I was telling Mike about Windows Vista the other day, he told me I was a dork.
Unfortunately, we probably won’t get anything @ work with Vista until we are required to do so, since it’s 64-bit doesn’t that mean most programs won’t be compatible at all?
nope… just means that if you dont’ have a 64bit processing processor that you will not be able to allocate any sort or mem / cpu requirements per operation… it’ll still run as an OS on a non-64b machine.
i doubt a lot of people will be going with it… i mean it won’t even be on the market through feburary at the earliest and who upgrades to the latest and greatest OS ASAP? no one…
As I sit here w/ a 64 bit machine, over 4 gigs of memory, SATA HDD etc. I’m jealous. Right now there’s more or less NOTHING running on my machine to take advantage of the 64 bit architecture.
