Winter Driven Sr's...

Oh – so SR stands for Super Race … nice

I would think your bigger concern would be the underbody in this weather, as opposed to the engine. But, I suppose you could powder-coat or heat wrap certain piping you’re worried about to help things.

No, it stands for Speed Racer… Haven’t you ever watched Speed Racer? :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you lose heat too? Sounds like you’ve got a hot weather thermostat … they have higher heat range ones you can swap in for the winter time.

Or there’s always the soccer mom cardboard-in-front-of-the-rad mod

yeah mine takes a long time to warm up, but then again i removed the heat blanket thingy on the hood, the rubber thingy along the back and raised the rear of the hood up a few mm’s.

Its pretty funny on the highway in colder than -10 weather if i go up a hill the car warms up and when i go downhill the thermostat starts to close hahaha.

When i drive my car hard it warms up, if i drive normally, it goes below the half way and sometimes to 1/4 heat, ahhaha…

…oh yah, i have no thermostat 8)

I’ll have to disagree with that. There are sentras, 200sx’s, and nx2000’s running SR’s but the NA version. My previous car (2001 Sentra SE) had an SR and it was fine in -40 celcius weather. Just had to have that good old block heater for it to start.

joke?

No way man, Sasha is totally right, I looked it up in the JGTC book… sure it was in Japanese and didn’t tell me much, but there were pics!!!

 :asshole:

My car takes a few attempts to turn over, and stumbles a bit during the first minute or two. It’s probably due to the absense of the AIV.

I also experienced some boost spiking from 16-18psi earlier this winter. My car’s been off the road lately.

I’m pretty sure SR stands for Supreme Rediculousness

the full definition of the engine code is:

Supreme rediculousness two litre duel input electromagnetic turbine

like i said, due to the duel input electromagnetic turbine it can only be used in the JGTC because it can spontaneously combust at any time. Anyone who runs an SR20DET takes a huge risk everytime they start their car, but its worth it for the amazing feeling it relaizes through the driving form!!!@#@#(*&($@

wait…
if Supreme rediculousness 2.0two litre Duel input Electromagnetic Turbine

then what does

SR20DE means?? lol

same but w/out the turbine?!

Actually, Nissan Japan lists the SR20DET engine as

Sasha Rubs 20 Dirty Elephant Testicles.

Fact is fact. Sorry guys.

i removed the heat blanket rubber as well, but my car warms up properly with the SR, the needle might drop by half a mm, but stays constant. I might put it back on to keep my blitz bov warm, cause it doesn’t like to blow off when it’s really cold.

i have no issues starting the SR in extreme cold temperatures… my beef is with CT’s crappy brake fluid (used in my clutch line).
