Winter to do list: 99.5 Audi A4

Haha, sure why not. Gotta have some love for the DD as well. So I just ordered all new brake rotors and PBR pads, timing belt, thermostat, water pump, serpentine belt, G12 coolant, a new coolant resevoir and resevoir cap. I also picked up a set of neuspeed lowering springs that will be going in as well. I’ll probably start (and finish) this project this weekend once all the parts have arrived. I am debating on whether or not I should pull the engine and do the clutch as well…

Pics to follow.

do it! pull the motor. ill be around until next tuesday. so we can bang it out this weekend.

FFFF man…find me a sweet clutch already then. What about resurfacing the flywheel??? Or budget resurface method?

cant ron figure something out. hes got a milling machine

id just use some sweet sand paper…

On with finding the clutch then. Looks like the S4 is going to be on the backburner for a little bit longer, lol.

gotta set priorities. pri 1 : bills/daily driver upkeep and maintenance, pri 2: fun car, pri 3: social life.

Can’t forget the camera lenses and recent drinking habbits, lol.

drinking is pri 3. camera is cutting into the fun car, so that is pri 2.

So the motor needs to come out to change the clutch? That seems like a huge pain in the ass.

It’s a rather straight forward task and is not as hard as you would think

its easier than monkeying around with the tranny when the engine is in. and for the timing belt the front end will be off and the coolant drained. once youve got the car to that point the engine can be out in an hour or 2 depending on how motivated you are.

It just seemed like alot of work to me. I didnt realize the engine could come out that quick.

They design them to come apart I guess, lol. Plus we have don’t it once already with my S4 so the second time around is always easier/quicker. Then I’ll be pulling the engine in the S4 again making it a third time when I rebuild it’s transmission in the near future.

You crazy mang!!

Yea good times had by all
