i’m really clueless here… are you talking about using a low signal connection? is that it maybe? because i’m lost.
I never get the kind of download speeds that I get when I am connected to a hard line. I get very servicable speeds, but when I need to download a big file I’ll plug my laptop in, or use my desktop. But for regular browsing and Windows updates and such, the wireless works fine.
FYI - a wireless connection, G even, will never perform up to its advertised speed.
Even in my most idealistic situations, 54Mbps is just not achieved.
But in most cases, your bottleneck is not your wireless connection, it’s your cable/dsl modem.
If you are a couple buildings away, you might be able to pick something up, I’d just get a wireless repeater and go from there
