it’s going to limit your interweb usage to a laptop, because it’s a laptop card, so you’d have to get the laptop on the interweb then share out the internet connection to a router to get another home PC online (if you’d ever need to do that) … but that is what yo’ure thinking about and will work! it’s nice because it’s cellular and will work anywhere, but it’s $80 for the unlimited usage plan… so it’s a big more expensive than cable interweb / dsl and a little slower… nicer than a shitty interweb connection or dial up. I used one through sprint for years and it was nice…

would sprint or any of them be better then verizon or since i got a verizon cell i should stick wit them and hope after i have it for a bit they hook me up?

average download speeds of 400 - 700 Kbps1

i’m at 52.0 kbps now here at my moms, LOL… soo it has to be ALOT better then what i’m used to

i would say no one is any better than anyone else… they are all cellular interweb cards and are competitive with up/download speeds…

try to get a deal! I do believe that without the unlimited usage plan, it bills you on amount of information transferred rather than time used… so if you browse pittspeed for 6 hours may only be $1.50 but downloading 5 porn movies could be $15.00…

so make sure to ask how you’ll be getting billed!

those are usually pipedream speeds… i’ve seen cards read 1MB connection speeds but only preform upwards of 200k… but that’s still pretty damn fast for cellular internet!!

be carefull for verizon. i got vut off on the unlimuted plan for over usage. there is some fine writting in there about only using for web and email. no music video downloads streaming etc.

they said that i was using 400x of the average user.

well i font care anymore and gave the card to whitey

see i’ll be on prob alot…

mostly just surfing the web…and maybe some songs

Sprint is 60.00 a month wit a free wireless card after mailin rebate…and it says UNLIMITED DATA PLAN unlimited MB of data

are you going anywhere or is this laptop going to be at home 95% of the time…if so get verizon dsl without local service…5 bucks more a month but it’s constant speed…and you can download/upload all you want

xlogic please read and use some xlogic

i actually think i’m gonna go wit Verizon DSL cuz of the price and speed of it

lol…calm down…its aight…lol…he was talking to me about price and speed

you said no home phone line… dsl will be faster… having a wireless laptop card is good for stuff on the road… for typical use of the internet it’s not really the best way to go though.

ya i know…but i wasn’t aware u could get it without getting a voice line and i went on the site and it says u can…

34.95/month, can do ur to 4 computers, and a free combined modem & wireless router

I would get Verizon if you choose to get a wireless card, I am pretty sure if you have their cell phone service then you get the unlimited for $59.99 a month vs the original $79.00 a month for unlimited. My uncle just got it, he lives in NYC and loves it. He came home for Thanksgiving and I was playing with it… even at my house where Verizon gets barely any service it connected and let me browse the web, it was a little slow but then again there was bearly one bar of service.

If you choose to get DSL, then you are proably better off getting Verizon FIOS instead. Either of the 3 ways will get you up and running!

ya checked into FIOS its not in my area yet:down:…but i’m the notification list for when it comes out…but for now i got Verizon DSL signed up this morning just gotta wait for the stuff to come in, in about 7-10 days they said…

Actually…he was right.

Verizon offers what they call a “dry loop” if you dont have a home phone. Its for dsl 768 and its 22 bucks a month:)

fshow i used to work for verizon up until last week :slap:
