i was just reading around on the iternet ie google and iv come up with more than one way to wire the altima fans. So for high speed do all 4 wires get used cause iv found where they have and some where they don’t.
if someone could let me know what color combination they used that would be great.
thanks scott
x2 !
I need the same info
This might be a little late but it should still help some people. I wired my Altima fans separately, One fan via stock A/C fan connector and the other fan via fan controller. If something happens to the wiring on one fan the other fan still works and gets me home safely.
Your Altima fans should have a connector for each fan(if they were not modified before) that will directly plug into your stock A/C fan connector (s14, not sure about s13) choose one and plug it in. My Altima fans did not have the stock connectors so I just soldered in a custom connector using the FSM wiring diagrams. For the other fan cut the plug off and wire it to a fan controller or a switch through a relay.
The wires on the Altima fans are: Blue and Green are both positive, Yellow and Black are both Negative. If you want high speed join Blue and Green together to positive and Yellow and Black together to negative. If you want low speed choose Blue OR Green to positive and Yellow OR Black to negative. Heres a diagram of how I wired my fans:
Now you can also wire it up the simple way with one switch for both fans using high speed only.
correct me if im wrong but your second diagram looks a little messed up
why are the fans grounding out through the coil side of the relay?
terminal 86 should go to bat (or some other +12v source)
and the negative leads from the fans should be tied directly to ground
Yea your right I just noticed, I never tried the relay method before but the fans negative should go directly to ground and the relay 86 terminal to a +12v source, Ill fix the diagram now.
