wiring issues no tail lights, brake lights or cluster!!!

hey fellas so i have a 1991 hatch that has no working brake lights, tail lights, or cluster lights heres a list of what i`ve done.

checked:

all fuses and relays in both boxes under hood
changed all relays and fuses in kick panel even the 3 behind fuse panel and 2 behind that white box above fuse panel
checked wires from tail lights all the way to fuse panel.
changed cluster

i`ve also changed every electrical box i could find behind kick panel
changed headlight switch

my headlights still work and i currently have the tail lights wired to a toggle switch in the main power wire at the tail lights before it seperates to the different lights. where my rear hatch grabber lock thing is there is no relay but there is in my friends 93 hatch i cant find any missing wires that would lead to it tho and my hatch wiper/defrost is unpluged as when i started chasing wires i realized a green wire had burnt up to bare wire and the defrost light stayed on so i unplugged that and have left it at that for now ANY HELP?

thanks in advance JL

TCU by any chance?

did u check ur bulbs?

bulbs are all good non were burnt out but i still changed them all.

would the tcu have to do with any of those issues tho?

so youre SURE the tail light and/or brake light fuses are ok?

check for broken wires at the hatch grommet (its at top of the hatch, passenger side)

Yes when my TCU blew… I had no dash lights, no radio, no tails, none of that. Just headlights.

i still have radio its a factory am/fm/tape/cd cd player doesn`t work and the light on the radio sometimes work but usually not all the fuses are good to go i even replaced them incase im blind i also replaced all the relays i could find. the wires on the passenger side of the hatch are burnt from the plugs behind interior 1/4 all the way to the wiper/3rd brake light i just unpluged those three plugs before i replaced everything and i took the rear defrost switch out because it was staying on then replaced the fuses and relays and still nothing but i cant find any more burnt wires

i`ll try that next where is it located?

anything?

Have you got a wiring diagram-if you do and you dont know how to read it I might be able to help you out.I am an electrician and I know it can be difficult for people to follow schematics-unfortunately its never easy to troubleshoot automotive electrical at the best of times-If you’ve replaced all your plug in shit-you are pretty much left with wiring-check for a shor from dash to the point where you power up the rears with a toggle-is the tcu sticky is refering to in the left rear pass side behind the plastics for the armrest(for lack of better words)-ive got a whole harness and all components from an 89 I stripped if anything will help you out let me know

I had this same problem a few weeks ago, as soon as i put my lights on the fuse would blow…after alot of messing around i found it was a wire in the front end near the turn signal shorting out…then it was fixed…ither then that start traceing wires is what i was told. lol

tcu replaced still nothing no blown fuses nothing

Same thing happened to me, it was the main fuse.

located where?

under the hood. it was the fuse with the second highest amperage. this happened when i had my s14

s13>s14 different i didnt see anything wrong with mine

got one of these? are you visually or electrically checking your fuses?

i used my voltmeter on the terminals getting 12-12.6volts and replaced the fuses also checked everywhere else i have no power going to back of the car or cluster lights have it at the fuse panel but thats it

broken wires?

ok so i took the car to napa they did a diagnostic check just said i needed a o2 sensor so replaced that replaced tcu replaced ecu the only broken wires i found were where the wires come threw the hatch and into the interior on passenger side one green wire was burnt to so i just disconnected them and left it at that my rear defrost button light would not turn off so i dissconnected it still nothing im stuck on using a toggle switch wired right to the rear lights…i hate wiring…

how are all your fluid levels??
