My pops was good freinds with a farmer down in Farmersville. Calves kept dissapearing overnight, they thought it was the usual coyotes, so they set out one night and shot it. Turned out to be a cougar with a DEC tag on it. He called up the DEC and the convo went as follows…
Farmer: Have you guys been releasing cougars lately?
Woman at DEC: No sir, The DEC never has and never will release dangerous wildlife into this area.
Farmer: Well I guess I should call Channel 4 News, Someones releasing cougars out here with DEC tags on em, and they killed my calves.
Woman at DEC: sir we’ll be right over…
Three DEC officers show up, one cuts him a check for the livestock, two load up the Cougar and take it away.

Well not just one but, yeah. The DEC is without a doubt releasing them. Can you think of a better reason to release the biggest, baddest preditor in NA? Just sayin, it kind of makes sense.

This picture, along with a similar other one, have been circulating around the text-world for over a year. I got this one from someone almost a year ago saying it was hit by a car near the PA border, then a couple weeks later by another friend saying it was hit by a car near Rochester.
Unless there’s some kind of news story behind this, or something that holds more fact than a viral text picture, then this isn’t worth blinking an eye at.
