Worst car part buying experience ever (sloboy racing and avid racing)

So when my volvo died i got myself a dsm as a winter beater/daily.

I usually buy a few upgrade parts as I hate mushy soft cars… bought the usual maintenance items like timing belt, spark plugs, etc… and I decided to get some stiffer engine mounts. Was going to go with just poly inserts but got suggested to get avid racing mounts with middle grade urethane (good for 600whp eeh… good nuff for me lol)…

I paid roughly 350-400 bux canadian with shipping for 4 mounts. At the time I didn’t know avid is canadian so this was through slo boy racing.

It was around december and i so happen to have a few days off and was hoping to do the work that the car needs at the time as I am VERY VERY VERY busy due to my work. Like right now I literally drive 1.5 hours one way… and 1.5 hours back. I go to sleep 9pm, i wake up 5am, etc… etc… its a nightmare. I roughly get 3 hours a day of time to myself its depressing and stressful lol.

So anyways I got promised that I’ll have it shipped to me before Christmas. This had me convinced and I went ahead.

Lo and behold I didn’t get shit, I was mad… long story short back and forth battle and ‘they are out of stock’ two weeks later I get the parts directly from avid… but with one missing mount. what the hell?

This is where the trouble began, so not only did i not now have the time to install the parts i didnt have what i paid for.

I got appologies more than once from sloboy (marty?), and got told the remaining mount is being shipped it was just a mistake. I kept asking for tracking number and no response… finally i get a response (now this is dragging for maybe two+ weeks) and get told they didnt actually ship it and get asked to send picture of the mounts i have… i take the pix I send it… again i wait… i get told its being shipped… two weeks passed i get carried away with work… no tracking number and i keep phone calling… finally i get a hold of the guy and again he appologies and says he’s working on it.

Then time goes by again and I pm the guy no response no response, i call leave voice mails no response… what the hell? Now get this I am also preoccupied with work… I dont have time to track this crap I pay and i want the parts end of story. I go on their website and email everyone including their boss… someone FINALLY emails me and says “what this has still not been taken care of?” im like HELL NO! The boss replies and goes hmm we’ve had this problem with avid before blablabla so they blame avid.

Several days later I get an unknown call from some guy called frank from avid… he appologises blablabla, and says he saw the pictures (as I emailed the pictures as well to the sloboy guys i guess they forwarded them to avid). Basically the avid guy says that they are moving (this was i think february or more like march?) and that they are so busy and that once they finish moving they will call me, probably at the end of the week. The guy acts like all friendly and when he hears that i am in oakville he is like oh great we’re so close, that i can just come and pick them up! They are moving nearby they mentioned winstonchurchhill or somewhere around there. Just busy with the move.

Again I get carried away with work, week passes, i was waiting, no response… i lost their number as it was actually an unknown caller id… i wait i wait, get carried away, i know my wife n i were still in middle of move ourselves, long story short nothing… Then I notice on here a sponsor mentioning avid and i post in his thread going wth i need to get in touch with them…

Times passes away i guess and i finally remember hey wtf my mounts… i send a very angry email april 21st… i get a day or two days later a phone call from some guy appologizing and saying how thyeve had issues with sloboy and probably wont be dealing with them again blabla DENIES I spoke with anybody before at avid (uuuh) and its mentioned that they JUST finished moving (WTH?!) and asked me to send the pictures. I send the pictures and the guy calls me back and says they dont have them at the moment but will probably call me at the end of the week (lol again) to let me know to pick them up if they get them… he offers me to have my car as a guinea pig for some new racing part and that i could get the prototype free i tell him no, i daily this car… so he’s like in shock that i reject and goes uh okay and tells me he’ll call me.

Again i am busy… and i told them this in the email as well, when i pay for shit i expect to get it and not have to run fields to get it, its none of my business if they screw up and the customer should be priority i have my own priorities, time schedule, that THEY should undersand, plus excuse me i am waiting for how long?? months and months for some frickin mounts?

Anyways just a few days ago i remember to contact them back again i email them and go what the hell is going on? like wtf? A MONTH passed again, now this is december to end of may now… what… the… hell.

I get an ANGRY phone call and voice mail… get this he is ANGRY at me for ‘talking to them this way’ cause i was pissed off and swearing… and… we dont get talked to this way AND claims i was told to come at the end of the week to PICK UP and that they were ready (a month ago)… total bs as i was told id be called and let know WHEN they were available!! He claims they were there all the time. And he gives me attitude on the phone and that he wont be there or ‘you wont see us when you pick it up’.

Excuse me WHAT THE FUCK? Worst fucking service ever. If I didn’t pay it or wait all this time and knew this was the case I would have asked for a full refund and told them to go fuck themselves and their cnc’d engine mounts. Worst customer service in the world.

Both slo boy racing and avid racing.

If I was a company and selling a product doesn’t matter if through somebody or directly, and i screw up i would go beyond whatever to make the customer satisfied and not drag the customer by his balls and even give attitude. An irrate customer because he PAID (eg; me) and didnt get what he paid for… for months. Check this the guy in an angry attitude responds to me and says “well i waited alot more months for my race car parts at times and uuh ya”… get the fuck out.

Really disgusted… what a douchebags.

I shouldnt be the one RUNNING AFTER THEM they should be the ones running after me… hello 6 months! Closing in on like 7 months i think now its almost june hell… for some stinking engine mounts. And besides if I PAID for the part, and they screwed up… again… they should have called me numerous times and left voice mails “hey your part is ready where are you”.

Total garbage service. With an angry and rude manner they told me i can come and pick them up and when i askd when they are open cuz i work and drive long distances he answers in a no care manner fixed times (like by the tone of voice, like get the fuck out we dont care when or how long you work kind of thing its here get it and leave)… like he is ANNOYED…

Worst frickin customer service ever. I’ve heard of some other people telling me before that avid racing and slo boy racing both are either slow service or poor service and i didnt listen but this is a direct experience and it was shit.

I’ve bought countless amounts of parts from different car part makers, distributers, and this is the one and only bad experience ive had since. Total douche bags. They can mount their mounts up their ass.

-got offered avid racing engine mounts 4 piece from sloboy racing and promised to get them before xmas > agreed and paid. Delayed tracking number turned to lies and not being shipped. Gets shipped past promised deadline and MISSING a mount.

-Get appologies and lied to again about the missing mount being shipped, constantly asking for tracking and being told its been shipped. Being then told they were NOT shipped and asked to take pix of existing mounts. Sent pic and played phone tag/forum pm tag for weeks… only to be ignored once again. Then when received supposedly promised that they were shipped again.

-I am very busy, no need to explain personal life events but get carried away and time goes by.

-I try to phone and leave voice mails to no avail, until i decide to email slo boy racing including their boss all their emails i could get, i get an email from the boss who is surprised this is still going on. Few days later i get an unknown call from some frank dude from avid appologies blabla and blaming it on sloboy racing and how they wont deal with them. Get told that they dont have the mounts now and are in middle of a move (this was like february/march)… get told that they will call me at the end of the week. No call received time goes on.

I get a phone call few days later denying i ever spoke to anyone at avid and that they appologize blbabla. I get asked to send pix again. Few days later i get a call asking if i want to be a guinie pig for a project to leave my car with them i say no its my daily and told ill be called when they get the mounts.

-Time passes again i am busy with life, a month passes in fact i send an email saying what the hell is going on like wtf, i get an ANGRY phone call with attitude shortly afterwards telling me they will not tolerate me talking to them that way and swearing/being pissed off and get a voicemail with attitude as well. Get also told that my mounts have been ready for a long time and are here for pick up. I’m like uuh… i didn’t get a voice mail or phone call about them being ready and the frank dude insists they were there all along (total bullshit and even if they were hello call me?). Not to mention further attitude as if IM IN THE WRONG and get told that “well i’ve waited even longer for parts for my race car” what kind of douchebag customer service is this?

-This has been dragging on since december until now and I am supposedly picking up the mounts tuesday. When i asked when they are even open they were being attitude about it as if i am inconveniencing them when in fact im the guy who drives 1.5hr one way to work and basically get 3 hours a day to myself (seriously i sleep 9pm wake up 5am, usually just 6pm by the time i get to sit down and relax).

Bottom line, total dipshit customer service and attitude at my expense. Sorry can’t make it shorter.
