Would this cause wheel shake?

Was just cleaning my rims when I noticed some bushing leakage. So I took a pic. Would this cause my wheel shake - from my previous thread?

How much are these bushings to replace? I’m assuming its best to do both fronts at the same time.

Thanks.

yes, this would cause your wheel to shake. you should also hear a clunk from underneath the car when making tight turns, are you getting that as well? anyway, i’m having the same problem with my own car right now and i have both of those symptoms.

new bushings aren’t expensive, i believe around $50 for a pair…
but there are higher quality ones available as well that are a little more expensive…lemme find you the link to a site that sells them

edit: here you go

if you only feel it at high speeds, or if you have replaced the tc rods and its still there, its probably being caused by worn steering rack bushings.

Thanks for the info! I don’t hear the clunk that you mentioned but the steering wheel has a high frequency vibration while on the highway. Its quite annoying.

Do I need to get the TC rod and bushing combo or just the bushings and press them into my existing TC rods?

Thanks.

u can tap the worn bushings out and replace them.

PDM has them, i actually purchased a set of whiteline urethane bushings that are still in the package, not sure if i am going to use them or not.

u could also replace this whole unit with an adjustable TC rod. you dont really need to adjust the wheel castor, but it replaces the stock bushing with a metal rod end joint.

this will give you far greater response, and will even improve braking so i hear.

i currently have adjustbale TC rods that we made. if i can reliably source a couple parts for them i will be selling full race quality, adjustable TC rods by summer.
