WTB: Boost Controller

I need a boost controller pretty quick. I would like a greddy profec b but will settle for most electronics and even a manual ball and spring… does anyone have anything laying around? my luck I gave my ball and spring backup to a road racer about 3 months back

please let me know.

I have one of these you can use:

Sonny, can you use a Apexi AVC-R ?

If so there is one for sale here: http://www.pittspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44094

Eric was right, I though that part name sounded strange

iv never heard of a avcD , i have had the AvcR (works great)

Stay away from the electronic boost controllers. Fluctuating boost levels, and inconsistent controls were enough to drive me crazy. The manual one is still tried and true.

i agree , i would go with manual , just make sure you mount it inside the car…

why?

thanks for the responses… i don’t have any history with the avcr… humm

i like manual and all, but my greddy has been rock solid since day one… i never had issues with fluctuating boost… but yeah… i’m open to whatever.

well , i owuld mount it in the car because i hate getting out to turn it down or up

ricer

hahaha

iv never been a ricer and never will be…

I have heard stories of boost creep being greater when the vac lines are extended into the cabin of the car

Fact or myth?

I’ve heard the same thing actually, but without objective data to back it up. Same goes for mechanical oil pressure gauges…when the hardline line is run into the cabin…it makes the gauge read less pressure than is actually seen inside the motor…makes sense to me.

i guess… i mean adding volume will eventually reduce pressure… eh?

we run boost gauges into the cabin… no issues there? if i wanted to have the full ability to change the settings on the fly i’m not going to dick around with a in-cabin located manual… i have electronic boost controllers for that!
