Hey i was looking around at a couple boost controllers , which one would you say is the best bang for the buck.
it really depends on what you’re looking for in terms of functions. if you want a cheap boost controller go with a manual boost controller. if you want to go the electronic route, most systems are within the same price range. check out the link for an idea of how much it’ll cost.

apexi ftw
Due to the spikey nature of most manual boost controllers they should be avoided if you’re planning on running anything over a few extra lbs compared to stock.
I have a Turbonetics MBC and it would spike to 18psi when I only wanted 16 and then drop to 14.5…
Even if you go MBC I’d strongly suggest you buy a good one and not a ‘cheap’ one, we’re talking about your engine here, saving $60 by buying a knock-off could cost you thousands.
A few of my friends swear by the hallman manual boost controller.
thanks 4 the help ppl. im going towards the eletronic boost controller.
is there a combination of both boost controller and fuel controller in one unit?
^^ I don’t think there’s a system out there that only does those two functions, but some stand alone ECU’s will control both (i.e. Apex’i Power FC)
honestly i had a cheap greddy profec b spec II
and it worked better than anything i have used since
i actually had so much fun with that thing
oh those were the days
avc-r is ok but it never held boost like i wanted
aem pro is wayyyy to over complicated and a hassle to tune and no multiscramble mode, so having 3-4 boost levels cant be done without plugging in a laptop
boo to that
so yea
greddy profec b
Personally I dig the GReddy Profec e-01. It is a bit more expensive but its very baller and has a huge graphical display eliminating the need to tap and run a boost gauge. It will display either graph, Digital or analogue boost and has a handy “idrive” kinda controller.
It was easy to install and set up the gains and all that. It held boost rock solid all day and it also interfaces with the e-manage if you ever go that route. Plus it logs 3 hours of data.
Plus it is just a sharp upgrade to your interior…downfall being a crackhead may try and steal it thinking it is a TV.
As far as mechanical any industrial pneumatic popit/pilot valve will be rock solid and steady, do not get one of those ball & spring jobs from Ebay… THEY are flakey.
I’ve always had good luck with the BLITZ SBC Spec R but the SPEC S is also a very good unit. The older Profec B was probably the best of the ~ 00’-02’ generation of controllers and can be picked up fairly cheap from most large forums or Ebay.
