WTB: Del Sol Parts!

Looking for a skunk 2 short shifter and knob (or equivalent) that will fit a del sol (eg i think)…no ebay crap please

I also need a black driver side fender and Door.

Thanks;)

i actually might have found 1 lol

Dude IDK if I missed the thread or whatever, but I’m assuming you have a delsol now?

this sunday im pickin her up

good for you man. Modded or stock?

Either way definitely a step up:tup:

its a really nice car that just ran into some bad luck lol, and id stay away from short throws on a honda trans, i bet a gsr or type r shifter would shorten it up and still be nice!!

but the weighted s2 knobs are really nice

y stay away?

theyre useless

i drove lees car and didnt even know he had one

yeah they dont do much of anything. i have a buddy club one from swerve its nice, but does not do much

a nice set of shifter bushings and an integra shifter will give you just as good a feeling w/o shortening the throw, some say short throws will ruin synchros’

i dont believe that, but i could see how it could help someone shift fast enough to not let the synchros do their job

Its not gonna hurt anything, and it is noticeable( to me at least). You will ruin your syncros by keeping your arm pressed against the the shifter when your riding.

i have a dc sport one in the crx and its decently short, but like JDMSIR said if you hold the shifter into the gear while driving you can hear it rub up against your syncros

not true. The synchro is constrained to the gear by the balk ring when the transmission is in gear. But you can wear out the bearing surface of the shift fork.

:fry:

so you’re saying you cant hold the shifter while your driving…?
or just with a short throw? i guess i dont “understand”

if im “racing” (my stock slow car), i tend to keep the shifter into gear, with my hand forcefully holding it, until it is time to shift again.

Obviously if my car was actually fast i would have to put it back on the steering wheel to help tq steer under boost lol. But does this actually “hurt” the transmission then?

yes because your putting an unneeded load on the bearings causing more wear.

Guys y can my threads never stay on topic?

dave there’s no point in getting a “skunk2” short throw shifter, you can just get an ebay one.

I dnt care what you say im not half ass"ing this car at all. unlike the mustang

the mustang was a learning experience that i never want to deal with again

great timing, I just tossed out a door.

I still have a pile of parts left though, all in black.

In fact, the rear bumper on the car you bought came off my parts car.

keep in mind with the shifter that the Sol came with a shorter throw than the civic from the factory. a junk ebay one may not be worth it.
