I want to build an coffee table out of an engine block. The more interesting the better. V12, V8? Preferably aluminum and European. Something not useable for a core is even better.

I got a bare B18 block lying around. It’s already been dipped so its all clean.
I was going to do the same thing with the ls1 block out of my brothers car
Just the block? We have some crap at the machine shop i could likely pull something from. Also have a bunch of crap cast cores like rods, cranks, cams, etc, etc. Shit is just sitting in the scrap metal bins.
I do have an S52 block that’s toast here, but it’s iron not AL. just taking up space at this point. I could hot tank it and sheel shot blast it clean for a nominal fee so it’d be clean and ready for paint.
also have a blown suby case, 2.5L Could make a nice split base table from it
Off the top of my head I’m not sure what else i have, but I have to go to the machine shop again on monday and can take a peek at what’s kicking around.
I cant wait to make the ls1 a table. Going to use pistons and rods to support the glass top

Typically a SBC is an easy and cheap route. 350’s are a dime a dozen.
Have the connecting rods hold up the piston as you mount them on the block.
Piston swivel will support the glass table.
