Picking up another one for crysis in mid november. Gotta be evga because Im ocd like that. (needs to match my other gtx) Id rather it be a base 575 1350 1800 clock speeds. Not looking to spend more than $425-$450 ish. Ill pick it up. let me know. Must be working 100% (obviously)
Wait for the 8800gt to come out in november. cheaper w/ the possibly the same performance as the gtx… around $250 I’ve heard.
its already out. Today actually. My gtx puts out over 100gb/s transfer rate and excels at the higher 1920x1200 resolution. I will say the 8800gt is a better bang for the buck, but im not downgrading. I want to sli 2 high end cards, not 2 mid range. The gt only has a 60gb/s transfer rate and a 256bit memory interface as opposed to the gtx’s 384 bit. The 8800gt stays with the gtx at low resolutions only. At high resolutions the gtx sees as much as a 10+fps increase over the gt. Thanks for the thought tho, but Ive already weighed that option.
I see. Most people are looking for bang for the buck nowadays, but you should be set for a long time with 2 gtx’s. What games you plan on playing/play now?(other than crysis) Good luck with your build.
Thanks but my builds already done. Ive had it for almost a year now. just looking for that extra umph in crysis. Other games im looking at are cod4, which i got the demo for yesterday and maxed at 1920x1200 w/ all eye candy it still got 70+ fps with just one overclocked gtx. Nfs pro street, gears of war, UT 3, and maybe the expansion for supcom…forged alliance i think? I have the original…decent game.

Yes I did read that article and it said the 8800gt basically keeps up with the gtx up until about 1920x1200 res. I dont know though. =/ Tough call. Currently there arent drivers available that support sli for the 8800gt’s on the 680i mainboard. Thats another reason why I wont buy it just yet. Id be running 1 gt over my 1 gtx until they get drivers fixed. Who knows how long thatll be.
