of the 2.5in systems he was considering they would both be loud. unless u have one made up at a shop with a res its going to be loud.
my system is 3in with a small res and a striaght thru muffler, and its apexi, and was loud as shit on the na 240 is was on b4 mine. when he swapped in a 2.5 with a no name muffler it was quieter.

most complete exhaust come with res on them. my 5zigen had 2. if i were him id either get a kteller with a res and hooker muffler or look at like the apexi world sport or something close to it
I have a custom made mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust with a magnaflow muffler also includes cat with 1 o2 bung.
Its for a 2000 integra gs-r, you might have to modify where the cat meets the header or you might not.
Its aluminized and i painted it flat black for extra protection. The kid who i bought it from put a slanted
tip on the muffler, Kinda looks like an ITR muffler. The only problem is the tip is a little crooked, I would cut it off
and weld it back on. It also has a magnaflow resonator, Im not sure if its 18" or 22". Im pretty sure its 22".
I bought it used for a JRSC project and never got a chance to install it,
just got into a little fender bender and have to pay a damn $1000 deductible.
Thinkin about getting the JDM front end and i could use the extra cash.
