Exhausts...

im looking at buying a catback exhaust and im wonder what exhaust everyone recomends!
i dont want to spend too much but i dont want a POS, i also dont want it to be too loud and ricy but i want a nice rumble, what do you think is the best besides stromung?

BTW im going to be buying a header and aem intake, so i have to keep in mind that will make it even louder.

I hear megan racing is junk is this true?
Also i know stromung is awesome but very pricy

bings.ca has a pretty good prices exhaust system

i can get a megan racing catback shipped to my door 375! what do you think, go megan racing or apexi WS2 for 350 used(3months on car)

The WS2 will be better quality and quite a bit quieter, if that’s what you’re looking for. You can find sound clips on the Vboard. :slight_smile:

I am currenly waiting on a Skunk2 exhaust for my 240 pretty decent prices but I havent seen or heard it yet.

will it make a difference? i mean ofcourse it will, since i dont know alot about all the exhausts, whats the difference between a just a muffler and and catback(exept that one is only the muffler)
how many hp does a catback exhaust gain me? i know a muffler is only sound, i dont plan on doing the full exhaust , just the cai, and header, so my question now is, just a muffler or catback? pros and cons? let me know also does it sound different? for example would a apexi ws2 catback sound different then just the muffler for the apexi ws2?

well i got a killer deal from 2003specv when he parted out his car for the exhaust, im not sure how much it is new.yah i have had no problems what so ever, it sounds killer and looks great, shiney dual tip and i haven’t been pulled over yet knocks on wood cause it isn’t a big cannon.

but i say go for the used ws2 forsure, better than meagan racing and used, exhaust, i mean really doesn’t make much of a diffrence except that it isn’t as shiney. thats what i think anyways

k but if i was to cheap out and just get the axle back… will i regret not getting the catback after i get my header and cai? or does it even make a difference?

But yeah the Megan Catback is what I would go with, then you could get the MR DP later on down the road and have a nice MR exhaust setup, with no worries of leaks from minor fitment issues by say going with Nismo Catback+MR DP (I had one hell nice smell from an exhaust leak before frum thos 2 together.

i would recommend a custom bent exhaust if you want bang for buck. i’d also scrap the cat and go turbo back, should cost you from 300 to 400 dollars from speedy muffler.

i don’t think he has a turbo, but other than that I agree. get one custom made from a good shop and you will save money, it will fit well and sound good. plus if you want it a little quiter you can just add another muffler or something later. one thing to remember is that you don’t want too big of piping. large piping will make you exhuast louder and you will loose some torque on NA engines. a moderate size, being a small upgrade in size, with a good muffler can work wonders. I would also recomend looking into the twister mufflers. they are quite, no baffles or glass pack, and high flow. I am using one and LOVE it!!

I loved my Vibrant cat-back when I had it.

Don’t bother with an axle back. I had one for like 2 months, and it was crap. You’ll be disapointed.
