dual TIP exhaust?

well to start things off, ive searched this already and havn’t found a whole lot of info.

i’m interested in getting a dual tip exhaust on my NA s14 to keep the stockish look and since it looks so sexy

ive been interested in the Trust DD and Dart Izumi style exhaust even tho its crazy loud. but i’ve been searching a bit and i cant seem to find any other exhausts that look like the Trust DD or Dart Izumi. if anyone knows of some please put me towards that direction! if they came with silencers that would be a huge bonus but noise is not a HUGE issue.

and if i’m correct, i believe the Trust DD exhausts have been disconntinued in 04.

and i know i can make a custom one, but i don’t know any reliable and good enough shops that can fab one up for me here in canada. if i did, i may have taken this route already.

WHY?
it adds weight and gains nothing…

plus the gas tank is really in the way…i guess it could be done…with lots of curves

he means dual tip
or dual pipe running alongside each other front to back

Go down to Noyzboys in Scarbourough and have them whip you up a custom job. Talk to Sav or Mike. For basically the same price as a pre-built exhaust you get a full stainless custom fit cat-back. These guys do some pretty crazy custom work and can whip up anything you desire.

I love my exhaust and it’s sounds great on my mostly stock-ish KA without attracting to much attention.

i donno if you can see in my sig but yeah 2 pipes looks way better than one huge pipe in my opinion. More sleeper haha

n1 dual

I’m getting something like this put on my car right now. I hope it looks nice and clean and stock-ish.

becareful of them… they do good work … only if they think the car is worth to show their efforts… by what I mean, shitty non clean car = shitty work

I paid for a custom exhaust… didn’t even haggle, showed repect, didn’t even complain of the pricing, expecting to get a good proper exhaust…

they welded the cat to the tranny mount… a rusted used downpipe… and improper welding between joints…

like I said, bring a show car, you’ll get you’re moneys worth… bring a car that needs work… don’t expect that you’ll get quality.,

that looks like something i’m interested in.

if anyone know how the dart izumi style exhaust is, it points upwards and makes the car looks stockish but with some class.

how much did your exhaust cost you?

i got mine dual tip exhuast done at noyzboys just like the one that cgguy has with a 3" piping and mandrel bent for about 800 with tax!.. yeah it’s expensive but the quality was excellent! The welding doesn’t even look like it was custom! go ask lucidsnow…he sat in my car.

I paid about 700 if I remember correctly (2.5" piping). I also had them throw on a Magnaflow resonator to keep it quiet.

I’m sorry to hear about ED’s bad experience but I can only say that they’ve done great work for me. I was even a picky bastard and had them re-hang it with additional hangers which they happily did at no extra cost.

if tehy make dual tips, can they also add silencers? and how did you know which resonator helped teh pitch of teh sound? how about the muffler too?

my muffler fell off my magnaflow and it sounds so deep and mean. so just wondering how you know which muffler would sound and etc?im looking for a nice low growl that sounds nice and mean…but also have teh silencers for street.

700-800$ sounds like a good price. what type of metal is used? i hope not some cheap metal that would rust easy during canadian winters.

i have the megan 3 inch ss cat back with dual tip
looks just like stock
and less than 700 bucks
contact varun

what’s the point of paying 700-800 bucks for a custom exhaust when you can get a proper cat-back exhaust from RSR, Blitz, apex’i etc. for about the same amount?
(ignoring the fact that you want a dual tip one)
Do you actually get anything out of custom built exhaust?

cgguy nice is exhaust we share the same good taste :thumright:

custom exhaust = how you want it and can mix and match certain aspects of all exhausts on the market.

thats the point of getting custom

i’d probably have something like the Trust DD style exhaust with a resonator or a silencer of some sort

You get perfect fittment for one. You also get stainless steel (unless you dont want to) so you wont have to replace a rusted hunk of metal in 2 years.

A high quality FULL stainless pre-manufactured cat-back is going to cost you more than 700bucks. Most of the ones selling for less than that are treated mild steel. The Apexi’s and RSR’s usually have stainless cans but the piping is all “treated” steel.

At the end of the day its persoanl preference.

unique sound, and as mentioned ability to mix/match companies…

the RSR exmag is all made out SUS409 stainless steel that’s coated jet-black…
and the Blitz Realize TT exhaust is all made out of SUS304 stainless steel…

both can be had for around 750 bucks…

actually, most of the cat-backs for our cars are made out of SS and cost roughly the same (+/- 50 bucks). Granted, there are exhausts that cost 800-1100USD, but most of them are around 450-500USD.

That’s where I got my RSR from and came out to roughly 750 with shipping and USD to CDN conversion.

edit: btw, the fitment on my RSR was perfect

I played around with the leftover chrome tips i used for my setup for a fake dual exhaust…our quad tip :? Mufflers a 3" inlet dual 2.5" out with 3" rolled edge tips and its a high flow 3 chamber(magnaflow XL series) muffler with no sound absoarbing insulation which gives it a very diffrent tonne than most mufflers. On my custom 3" catback it sounded awesome but far far far too loud on my N/A. Highley rec this muffler if you go with custom piping…it does create backpressure…may not be too suitable for a turbo’d car…ask around…
