Different types of exhausts

So, I’ve been checking out all the exhausts out there and it seems every single one of the full catbacks has a huge hand eater exhaust tip. Every single one of them has the hand-eater styled exhaust tips that can fit a cd or hand or little baby.

The other thing is that all the mufflers on these systems are cylindrical as opposed to squishy oval.

The other thing is that most of them are on an angle hanging…

I was wondering what kind of full catback exhausts are there with dual tips? Everything that has dual tips seems to be 2"< (I am talking about the full exhaust piping). Either OEM or just junk aftermarket.

Something that had 2.5"-3.0" full piping and then a muffler that had the muffler tucked in or oval with say 3.0" dual tips would be nice…

Share your thoughts…

See it’s like WHY must the exhaust tip be 4.5" (115mm) and the piping 2.36" (60mm) This is an Apexi N1:

Why not say two 2.25" tips (half of 4.5") etc… argh… can’t this giant muffler tip trend be broken…

Did I not just pm you and tell you to look at the Apexi N1 Duals?

There is also the Megan Racing Type 2 Exhaust

3" Tips

Both going to be very loud on a KA

I’ve seen the apexi n1 duals. That’s why I posted the apexi n1 exhaust.

That’s still frickin humangous, it’s like taking two of the n1 and putting them side by side. That’s not a solution lol… That’s making them slightly smaller from one 4.5" to TWO 3.5"… that’s nuts… which still look like scandalous baby eaters.

I’ve seen the megan racing type 2 exhaust, that one interested me though, that looked descent with 3" tips. That’s what I’m talking about… not sure how the muffler and piping is though…

many companies make sleeper style exhaust… u just gota know where to look n have the money

couple off the top of my head…
i.e fujitsubo, spoon, reamemiya, stromung, magnaflow, rs*r… maybe mine’s, nismo?
yea… theres less oem looking ones n more N1 (?) styled exhaust… but take a look ull find them

Kakimoto Hyper2000 FullMega N1 Dual
&
Fujitsubo Legalis Dual
= teh shit

Someone was once selling a Fujitsubo exhaust on here (i searched the forum) and that looked descent and nice… It was used and still quite pricey… It had a single large tip, but the way it looked, it looked very sleek and elegant, discrete, it looked fine… I think…

Just thought I’d hear what people have to say on the subject.

No offense intended to those who do have them, but I find these baby eater tips anoying, unappealing and useless… A trend that should die and that I’ve always personally associated with either boy racer honda civics which usually just have a muffler stuck on the stock exhaust or actual heavily modified turbo cars (such as MK4 supras) who have a full exhaust for their application and to whom the tips do fit and embody a sort of muscle car feel to…

On the 240sx on the other hand… to me… it just does not fit… it is overkill… at least on an s13… on some s14 it looked okay, it looked fine… Might as well take a truck exhaust tip and stick that on…

I am after sleeper looks for sure… From all the pics I’ve seen of aftermarket exhausts on S13 240SXs, they just don’t look right… and are definetely cop magnets/attention seekers, overkill… and so on.

My goal with my car that I’m building is to have a sleeper car. Everyone’s car reflects what they want or what they are or what htey like or whatever… everyone has different tastes. Everyone has differnet goals with their car. When it comes to appearance, I want to have it clean and good looking; elagant and discrete… Finesse… If there was a car I would look up to it would be an NSX (don’t laugh… but think about it)… as opposed to say… a boy racer’s imitation civic spoon race car…

The trend for the last couple of years has been huge muffler tips… I don’t like that… and it’s over done and over kill and immediately associated with street racing, wrecklessness and so on, by both authorities, friends, family and civilians in danger on the road lol.

I really have come to hate these huge tip exhausts… I sometimes ask myself, are all of these huge muffler tip exhausts performance or just looks? It seems as soon as someone sticks a huge tip it automatically is a performance exhaust and the bling bling must have.

Magnaflow makes a really nice dual tip exhaust. So it’s not “JDM tyte” but who cares. It sounds better than most I’ve heard and it won’t drag along the ground behind you. Have a shop bend you some stainless 2.5 inch piping and you’re good to go.

Here’s mine and I love it.

Also what is the stock piping on the 1991+ s13 exhaust? Didn’t exactly measure it… just wondering.

Coincidentally I have that exact one for sale for a s13.
It is dirty, but will look great if cleaned.
Was only removed to replace with a full 3" baby eating turbo jdm catback.

1.5 or 1.75 I believe.

Well I’d like to buy a new one mike… it’s not that I don’t like you or something lol… bro it’s just I want to buy a brand new one… and I am sure yours is fine and nothing’s wrong with it, and whoever get sit will be satifised ive got no doubtt of that man, its just I personally would like to buy a new one… don’t be hatin’ :frowning:

And while I’m at it, I tell everyone to check his exhaust out and get it. I think we should as a community change the trend from huge baby eating single tips into dual tips…

I messaged bings if he would make such things but he said he doesn’t design them and just sells the ones he has on the site.

It would be nice if we were to change this trend of single big tips…

^I’m guessing it’s that? The 14815 magnaflow muffler.

5" x 8" Oval Street Series Polished Stainless Steel Universal Muffler With Tips

2.25" inlet and 3.0" tip?

Best bet then is to get that muffler and get an exhaust shop to custom mandrel bend an exhaust for you, then custom mount it.

Another option is single exhaust RSR ExMag… again… very loud on a KA. But is very sleeper/stock looking.

There’s someone else that was doing a group buy for them too, check sale/groupbuy sections.

if your exhuast doesnt eat babies… its not big enough.

better yet find a russian. and see if his arms fits inside the pipe… if it does. then ur ok.

lol

GT

might be referring to me… that buy is over now though, I had some exmags but sold them all :-/

the price in the link you posted is a bit high but still a nice exhaust, i have one on my car… like mike said very stock looking.

also notable… since a_ahmed mentioned this earlier…
2x2.25" does NOT equal 1x4.5" … 4x2.25" will be same volume, approx same flow, as 1x4.5"

Dont forget you can also go custom, which is always a good way to go.

The N1 likes to rust out so ive heard lately…

Can you get a silencer for the ex mag?

Here is mine. Its a Bee*R Type 3. Full stainless cat-back 3" with no resonator. Kinda rare tho.

Looks familiar…

no :frowning:

You have one too many coupes. Donate one to charity.
