WTB: fox body convertible

while my 5.0 waits for me to give it the attention it deserves, I want something to cruise around with in the summer. Im looking for an 87-93 5.0 convertible (but would consider a 4-eyed car maybe)

Must be in good running order, i dont mind doing a little work but I DONT WANT ANOTHER PROJECT!! some rust is ok, but I dont want a complete rusted out hunk of shit. NO PONRO RED INTERIOR. 5 speed would be preferable. not looking to spend more than 2 or 3 grand.

You’re going to live up to your user title…

dude. you can’t possibly have that much work on the fox you have. i guarantee i have 103892842x more work, and ill be out next month.

just stick to the project you’re on and FINISH IT!!!

good lord

well, i was looking at it today, and i realized there some rust starting to form on the shock towers, a lot of the wiring is coming apart, i have this clusterfuck of ripped apart/plugged up vacuum lines, i seem to have a leaky brake line somewhere, and I have a few other things that I half-assed when I changed the motor last year that I need to fix up. Oh, and my oil pan gasket is also leaking, and i could prob use some urethane motor mounts before the supercharger. Soooooo, i am going to slowly but surely take the engine back out, fix the oil pan gasket, and while its out im going to clean up all the loose ends inside the engine bay, clean up the wiring harness, get the rust taken care of before it gets really bad and paint the engine bay. this all could have easily been done when i had the motor out the first time, but i short-cut it and didnt do it so I am gonna now, and I’m gonna take my dear old time on it and so it right.

well it’s a good thing you want to do it right and clean. most people rush and hack…no good.

i would say, get it running and just drive it for the year. then take it apart to do all the necessary cleanup

pull the top off the jeep and cruise duuuuuuude!!!

I know its Alil more then what your looking for but still nice …= )

Not a vert…but the supra turbo targa is right up your alley.

Swap the motor over in a weekend and boom…turbo fun. and targa to boot

Doesnt quite seem like you can give that thing away…

:word:

Mine needs some body touchup, and the engine bay is not as neat as I’d like it… but that aint gonna stop me from driving it all season.

That sort of shit is what winter time is for. :fyi:

:hugepicard:

Funny thats what I was thinking… a soft top is alot cheaper then another car

lol, no shit.

My friend has a 91 with 20K orig miles, never messed with bone stock absolutely mint. It is an LX hatch with the 5.0 auto.

^ His price range is $2 - 3k…

I know that car won’t go that cheaply.

its hard for me to do the work in the winter because my garage is really small (1 car, maybe 2-2.5 feet on each side of the car to work with) so pulling the motor out in the winter aint happening. Got my Jeep soft top in the mail today, going on in place of the hard top tomorrow! now, if i could put a 5 speed, and a 5.0 in the Jeep and make it NOT feel like its gonna tip over every time i go around a turn, THEN we’d have one hell of a compromise!

I would just use this as motivation to button up your car now.

you can’t really get a any mustang GT vert for 2-3k that doesn’t really need any work?

if I’m wrong, I’ll buy on to cruise in.

edit: WOW I guess you can… based on a nationwide search of autotrader.
