This is correct. I am having my car gone through for a seasonal tech to 9.99 in a few weeks. Im not sure if they do it like that up there or not. Anyhow if they are being strict you might want to download the rulebook because 9.99 tech has a ton of crap you need. $100 a point is a good deal on a custom piece that will fit great. I have seen a jegster kit after install and it was not bad to be honest and they are under $200 and you will just need someone to make minor adjustments and weld it for you. IMO it is a viable option if you are really on a budget.
Excellent suggestion. With the chassis business you get what you pay for. Cheap price is going to get you a pile of shit cage, welded poorly by someone who thinks they know what they are doing. Expect to pay good money for quality work and be learly of the guy who is the “cheapest”

IIRC Vitez or antonicelli did Newmans E30 cage, and it looks well done.
NYI generally is no where near that strict. Maybe next year when Bob isn’t running operations anymore, who knows…

ya, im pretty sure for 9.99 certification involves drive shaft loops and fuel cutoffs and all sorts of crazy shit. however i am on a budget. I wish i could just send the car to the best but that just isnt an option right now. im gunna think about it for now. this is a cage im gunna have to live with so i wanna make the right decision.
My track checks EVERYTHING and fails you a few times over rediculous crap. Lame, well good luck on your quest.
