People who have a cage/roll bar....

Where did you have it done? Did they fab it up or did you order one and then have it installed. Finally, what did it end up costing you.

Thanks

PM performance does cages, I believe they charge 100 per point. I went to visit their shop in NT about a year ago, good stuff.

Vito Antonelli? I think it is also does cages, I THINK* they’re a bit more $, PM newman about that, he got his e30 caged there.

I did mine with a friend, cost me about 160 bux for the comp. engineering kit. If i did it over again i wouldnt buy it only becuase comp engineer has the thickest tube walll thickness which makes it heavier than the other makers. Chris Alston makes the nicest kits IMO. There are a few guys locally that install them on the side.

Or i’d recommend Vito Antonicelli, as far as i know he’s the cheapest ‘professional’ in the area. plan on spending roughly 1000 bux for a custom one. Id definately go this route because it’ll be made to fit tight in the car and not look out of place. Another really good one is Jason Vitez although at the moment i think hes VERY busy, still give a call and get a quote.

Also whoever you have do it make sure its TIG welded, anything else looks shitty in my opinion. Any professional shop will TIG weld. I get leg humped at every car show and people ask who did my bar cuz it looks so clean and the welds are awesome. People do notice. Here’s mine…

PM and vito in buffalo. pro car in rochester.

That is one sexy sig bladez

Just for comparison, a TIG weld vs. a MIG weld
Upper weld is a TIG weld, nice clean. Lower welds are MIG, pretty drastic difference in appearance. Depends how picky you are i guess, i am very picky.

I did mine myself. I went with a 10pt cage from S&W and mig welded the cage. I wanted to go through the dash cuz it looks so much better. I also wanted to have full interior. I had to see Vito to get door bars bent so they would fit around the arm rest. her are some pics.

^ cage fits nice jimbo.

I’m gonna finish mine off next winter, full 10pt with window net… cuz i’ll need it…

jason vitez or vito. you know what you are getting with them. they will be geometrically correct, and the welds will look NICE, and they will be strong, not buggered

jim, vitez is coming to my garage tomorrow, he’s done a lot of work for me. he is among the best. stop by if you want to meet him

i would also recommend Jason Vitez. Good, guy, even better work

i will have to stop by, I think if i have the cash kicking around, i might cage it this summer.

Unless you plan on doing big motor mods or something why would you want something welded into the car? Are you going to keep it forever or potentially sell it down the road?

You could just do a 6 point Wolfe bolt in drag bar or something like that, and then you have the potential to pull it out if you ever want to sell it and buy a different car or something like that.

:word: dont put a cage it in, unless u really care about if u get booted from the track

Pm Performance does nice work. I know there are a select few on here that will bash him without reason, But I had my cage done there. The Fit and quality is awesome. A couple friends of mine went with vito. He has low prices, but next to mine, the fit is crap. From what I have seen, he just doesn’t put the time into it. Check out PMP, It is at least worth a look.

My dads buddy does really nice work. He would rather build it from scratch because some cages you buy such as moroso its rolled tubing so it will be thinner in some spots. His shop is 10 mins across the border called T.T Fabrication. Here is a car he is doing right now.

Damn what does he plan on doing with that neon that requires such an elaborate cage?
