Just curious - did your Tstat have a little jiggle valve on it?

This is for a 3sgte - completely different motor, but it’s a thought. The jiggle valve on my motor is meant to orient the Tstat properly while in the housing . Doubt that’s what’s causing your issue and I strongly believe you have another problem, like the air that’s been mentioned. Always worth making sure items were installed correctly in the first place - and get a QUALITY thermostat, not some AA generic fit piece made out of recycled reynolds wrap.
It really sounds like you’ve got a pinhole leak somewhere in the system.

picking up new t stat from lia tommorow. oem is BEEFY compared to the winpy ass AA. got all the air out. takes FOREVER for the thing to open. so f that. oem it is!

and yes, both generic and nissan both have the jingle valve

a little trick for you jeff…

you can either drill a 1/8" hole in the t stat to facilitate bleeding, or open the stat and place an asprin tablet in it, then install…

i prefer the bleed hole, and i’ve done the same in a few cars.

for faster bleeding, fill the upper radiator hose into the engine, then raise the car up as high as possible in the front. massage the upper and lower hoses while blipping the throttle, with the heat on full to make sure the heater core/ heater valve is open.

Yeah Jeff, Just make sure the jingle valve is up. I don’t understand why your having so much trouble with it, lol.

replaced the t stat couple of days ago… no more problem. lol
