I do not believe this one bit. Not everyone wants to just sit online searching out new bands or music to listen to. So for them to just turn on the radio on the way to work does not make them narrow minded and not reach out in other aspects of their life.

I used to post in the music thread. I know I listen to a lot of different and sometimes unusual music. I sometimes ponder how someone could like what they do just the same as they probably think about what I like. Basically I probably can identify easier to some with similar interest as myself but try to not judge those with differing musical taste because it is a pretty small(for some) part of who we are.
Basically I can be friends with someone with way different musical taste.
It is probably more likely I will be good friends with some similar taste and interest but not necessary.

With pop music, there is actually a analysis done that songs have attributes that make them number one and its effect on the brain to make you feel good and a bunch of other stuff. I got to find it but it was pretty interesting and using the system they could actually take a song and predict if it would be a #1 single.
