Bump.
Just finished flashing my Samsung MS28 drive. Not hard at all once I got a Via chipset SATA card.
Now I just have to figure out how to actually burn the games so I can test it. Got the good Verbatim DL disks.

Ok, flashing the xbox was much easier than copying the game disk.
Had to take apart my dvd-rw drive, put in a movie over 7.5 gb, let windows see it, then pop the disk out through the top of the drive and put the game disk in. Then I could use software to rip the ISO, patch the ISO, and burn it back to a dvr+r dl disk.
Good news, Test Drive Unlimited works perfectly from the burned disk. So, FS: One test drive unlimited original disk.
You might want to watch, because sometimes when u put an original disk in it moves the laser too far back and then it has troubles reading a burned disk. Then its time for the rubber band trick. Happened to me a few times. I dont know whats on an original disk that makes the laser get all out of whack.

Was doing some reading last night and there are two new drives out in the latest 360’s. Well, one new drive, and one old drive with a new “unhackable” firmware.
First, the new drive, is a BenQ. Little progress has been made re-flashing it.
Second, Hitatchi has a revision 79 drive showing up now. Sounds like people are working on it, but there is no known hack for that one either.
