Just saying that they are not flooding the marketplace as they were expected to, since HDDVD formally died. I’m not saying that BRD hasn’t won the format war or anything stupid.
Even Sony stated in a news article a couple months ago that they are beginning to lose bottom line money on BRD because sales are no where near projections.
That, and I still feel that Sony is counting on it’s “exclusive” games to save the PS3, when in reality I guess those games are not as great as expected, or not even to mark. Hell GT5 is now slated for XMAS 09… :fail:
And, TBH: BRD is fantastic to watch on a proper setup. But cereally, 1080i on a 61" LED DLP is “good enough” for me. I def appreciate the BRD PQ, but it’s no way worth $50 a disc for me.
actually beck thats the player i have and it is better than the ps3, i researched for a month on that player and shit like that, im very happy with it, does everything i want and need it to.

ebay and deepdiscountdvd for brd, i bought the godfather collection sealed brand new on ebay for 35 bucks.
so much cheaper online, i usually rent them now tho, unless its something i really want, im thinking of getting a burner for my pc tho, brd-recordables are pretty cheap now.
Im not surprised at all. I have said many times that if min RODd again i would get another 360 and continue doing so until the next gen consoles come out and i can skip playstation again. I wont even buy one as a blue ray player cause it wont even stack up well in my entertainment center not to mention i will have to look at those shitty controllers. And beck is right they are fucking losers for stopping the streaming of movies on netflix. Bunch of crybaby fggts.

Failure rate on ps3 vs 360? Mediocre shit? I know you hate sony, but that makes no sense. It is more expensive, but thats obviously the blu ray player talking. xbox360 this gen, is like ps2 was last gen. Usually the cheapest console wins out sales wise. Both have good things about them and bad. Just depends on preference.
The OG units for 360 did fail a lot, I had 2 ROD, but it seems the new ones with the upgraded cooling and the HDMI port seem to be holding up well.
Also ,it took Sony something like a year and a half after the 360 launch to bring the PS3 out.
I would rather have a 360 that broke once every 6 months and was fixed for free than not have a system for a year and a half.
On another note, I love my 360 HD DVD drive it cost me $40 and came with 5 movies and now I buy disks for $1 all the time. I know no new stuff is coming out, but it also works great as a normal DVD player with an HDMI output.
This plus Kevins post. Really microsoft builds up live like its the best thing since sliced bread and for the most part they are pretty close. It is the best online experience out of any of the consoles.
