So I’m trying to use my xbox360 with the HDMI cable. I want to get the xbox sound to my surround. when i have the HDMI cable going to the tv and the left and right cords from my surround sound going to the tv output, it wont work because of the high def sound.
can i take the HDMI cable and send it to my tv and also have the cords the xbox comes with for regular tv’s, and send them to the surround sound?
will both put out sound or is it like a you need to select which you want to use, hdmi or component cables
is your surround receiver digital? does your TV have a digital audio output such as optical or coax digital? If yes to both, send a digital audio cable from TV to surround receiver and make sure audio output is turned on at the TV.
It’ll work if you just use composites (red and yellow) for the sound. Both outputs from the xbox (composite and HDMi) will be enabled for sound at the same time.
my idea is that i can have this plugged in with the hdmi cable plugged in as well and only run the two sound to the surround sound
edit: pretty much wondering if this is acceptable or if something might happen. maybe one over powers the other, will the sound just come out like shit, is there another way i can do this.
Now i have the premium Xbox 360 but i got it a couple years ago before they had the Elite, so i dont even think i have HDMI on mine, so im just screwed?
