Some of you may have read my “blown diff” thread i had regarding my '94 Jeep. I took it to Transit Town Dodge, waited around for almost 2hrs and they concluded that my diff was blown and needed to replace it.
I looked around junkyards the past 4 days trying to find a '94 jeep with the same gear ratio so i can swap the entire front assembly with.
Worried i wouldn’t find anything soon enough, i Purchased/Paid For a new Jeep on eBay last night… have to pick it up in North Carolina.
Took the Broken Jeep to go get fixed this morning at a local shop…turns out I destroyed my CV joint and only cost me $200 to fix. Pulled the diff cover, everything was in perfect working order. I already have it back and everything is great with it.
Fucking Transit Towne Dodge. :cjerk: But atleast i have a sweet new winter beater.
See now that gets me thinking, If you were to get that in writing from Transit Towne. If you go the work done on the diff, assuming that they actually replaced it, even though there was nothing wrong with it. Is there some legal recourse you could take?
no theres not u can take it to court u wont win. if they did the work and then charged him for the axle they could cust sat him a axle. both problems do show the same symptoms
meh whatever…it’s not a big deal. I was expecting it to cost me between $600-$800 to get fixed, including labor. $200, was just a better price to resolve the problem.
I wouldn’t have bought a new vehicle at this time, but the thought of having semi-major work done pushed me to get one quicker. I think i’ll just keep this jeep… it really is great to beat on. They are strong.
