if you are a Tech at Paddock you should know how flat rate works. Flat rate is when a job is quoted at XXX hours and that is what you get paid regardless of how long it takes you. That is how dealerships make money. This is how we quote jobs that are not custom. Off of published labor times. 9 out of 10 times we lose our asses on jobs because you cannot “flat rate” your way through custom or performance work.
With that said. If I charged for every hour someone was working on your cars I would be a rich man but that is not how it works and most of the time, to my regret, you all get way more than you pay for. I wish I could break even on most things but if I charged what most of the work really costs, none of you would pay it.
