if you are a Tech at Paddock you should know how flat rate works. Flat rate is when a job is quoted at XXX hours and that is what you get paid regardless of how long it takes you. That is how dealerships make money. This is how we quote jobs that are not custom. Off of published labor times. 9 out of 10 times we lose our asses on jobs because you cannot “flat rate” your way through custom or performance work.
With that said. If I charged for every hour someone was working on your cars I would be a rich man but that is not how it works and most of the time, to my regret, you all get way more than you pay for. I wish I could break even on most things but if I charged what most of the work really costs, none of you would pay it.

Equinox’s require it also drain coolant fill with water remove core plugs. fill. repeat. add prestone run for 25 minutes. drain boiling hot coolant all over your body …etc…Don isn’t lying here. I’m really shocked to see a thread like this. Don is a good friend, and one of the fairest people I’ve met in the car business. He’s done work on my cars, never charging what he should have, only to prove that he cares about his customers and their cars. I have nothing but good things to say about Don, and all his crew at Hybrid.
