You just cant tell some people lol...

^RELAX… :lol

lol @ this thread.

Ride a dirt bike first to learn how to clutch? Does clutching/shifting not come naturally? I think the hardest part of any manual transmission vehicle is just taking off in 1st gear. You can learn to shift just by playing video games or watching movies. Learning clutch control in 1st gear is the hardest part of “learning” to ride. (Same thing with a car) People take the MSF course on little 250’s and go out and ride their whole life on public roads with no problem. (Does that make them good riders? No. There’s a difference between knowing how to turn, and knowing how to turn GOOD/GREAT). If you have proper gear on, your biggest concern may be dropping a 250 on the street at a slow speed taking off. I personally don’t know anyone though who has ever dropped a bike learning how to use the clutch/shift.

I’ve never ridden on dirt, I learned on a GSXR 600 SRAD for ~6 hours, then bought a CBR900RR. I accidentally wheelied that thing more times than I can count. I never grasped the basics of throttle control before jumping on my literbike. This is where a smaller bike definitely comes in handy. Instead of focusing on your throttle in a turn on a larger bike, you can focus more-so on entry/apex/exit on a smaller bike because the throttle is far more forgiving. It took me ripping around on a 250 to realize how much better of a rider I could be before I progressed.

I’m not saying I’m good. I destroyed the chicken strips off my Z1000 the first day owning it, but I got some hefty strips on the R6. I’m not concerned with that though, I am confident in my riding ability, and while people tend to leave me on the straights (because I obey the law), I usually can keep up & pass most of the riders I see around here in the turns.

Sick comparison vlad. Almost made sense.

Hahah coming from the pussy who hides and bans people when they show up to your house.

Cool story, this isn’t about how good of a rider you are. So you didn’t start out on a 250? Such a dumb move not to.

I rode dirtbikes starting at a young age every bike I got was bigger than my last , when I was old enough to get my license I rode a friends gsxr1100 as the first bike I really road for any lenght of time and was hooked . But I used my head and ya gotta ride with your ability . If I lived in a city or short disatnace shit I would be on a 450+ motard seeing they r fun as hell and very rideable but that’s the dirtbikes lover in me as well . Buttttttttt if I was on the highway a lot no way would u catch me on anything smaller than a 750 cause if I gotta abuse suttin to pass someone doing 65 I consider it unsafe esp with a man of my stature and need suttin wit power to pull me . Also smaller c.c bikes have smaller chassis setups ! Guess what I’m a big man and I’m not rockin a 250 lol as I would bottom duel out sitting and would be almost curled up riding it .

Lol i give up:dunno

It’s a great comparison. Plenty of people I know drive drunk and never crash. Its not a big a deal as people make it out to be. You don’t have to be sober to drive. As long as you take it easy and dont drive like an asshole you will get home just fine.

And people are showing up at my house now? News to me :rofl

I’m sorry you weren’t man enough or in control enough to start on a liter and had to learn on a baby 750. Those things are dogs compare to a liter.

vlad your comparisons suck and your mentality is quite retarded sometimes.

So you didnt ban brett?

I couldve started on a 1000 without a doubt. To me if you cant handle the power of any bike, you dont belong on one.

And whats up with the gay ass :rofl :excited:ninja:rofl:shifty:skid:shifty:haha after all of your posts.

I banned him and many others, such as trolls, bots, people who don’t follow the rules. What does banning him have to do with “hiding and showing up at my house”?? And you say my logic sucks.

Not to mention your idiot logic about a high horsepower car to learn on isn’t comparable to a race bike to learn on and that there is such thing as too much car for a new driver, but any bike is fine.

Let’s play a little game all are invited - guess if I’m talking about a drunk driver or a new rider on a bike he doesn’t belong on

  • has friends that have done it without issues plenty of times
  • he has done it and didn’t die despite everybody telling him how dangerous it is
  • isn’t in complete control of the vehicle
  • thinks he is fine as long as he takes it easy
  • has others telling him it’s a stupid idea to be doing it
  • the more he does it the more he learns how to operate the vehicle and gets better despite his circumstances
  • there are countless forums and posts saying how stupid he is to be doing that

… Yeah no similarities at all, terrible comparison

And you could have started on a liter but you didn’t. That makes you a pussy just as the people who start on 250’s who could have started on a bigger bike.

Your pathetic attempts at taking the conversation on a tangent are hilarious by commenting on me, use of smileys or people apparently showing up at my house.

I’m sorry you’re wrong and majority of the riding world agrees with my views. If you got something smart to say on the riding matter go ahead, otherwise tuck your tail between your legs and make a stupid comment such as “you’re useless to argue with”/“I’m done here” or attempt to conversation on yet another tangent. We all will know you have nothing of intelligence to say to a fully logical argument from the side you don’t agree with.

Thank you for playing.

Vlad, in america we compare things that are alike. Not driving drunk to learning how to fucking ride a motorcycle.

Like I said before, did you learn on a 250? How many of your friends didn’t learn on one? How many are still alive?

:rofl :ninja :skid

I don’t understand your obsession with 250’s.

I listed a number of other bike options that are still a better choice as a modern super sport to learn on.

Let’s see Oleg, RocketPunch, Pants Party, 1slowcam, and I believe McBitching all started on 250’s.

Niskyspy, Mx5, myself and a few others I cant recall all started on better than SS other options. All are still alive. I currently own a 250.

Thank you for going off on “this is America” tangent and the other one instead of trying to come up with any hints or logic behind your point of “you’re better off learning on a race bike instead of starting small”

You never disappont. Feel free to show up at my house whenever you want. I likely won’t be home anyway.

This thread was never about you either so dont get your panties twisted. I’m sorry you started on a smaller bike than you could have. I really am.

:skid

Another horrible response vlad. Never said I would show up at your house either.

Thank you for another terrible response with nothing to contribute to an argument in which you don’t even make points.

Unrelated to bike size and pertaining to street riding, I hate people who brag about “chicken strips” or the lack thereof and/or look down upon people who have plentiful sized “chicken strips.” Or talk about how their smaller displacement, slower bike may get passed in a straight however they’d catch/pass the larger bikes in the twisties. To push any bike to that kind of limit on the street is easily as reckless as any of the other countless reckless things you can come up with to do on a motorcycle. Even while maintaining the speed limit/recommended speed.

Rider ability aside, if there is unexpected dirt, loose gravel, oil, road kill, wet leaves, etc around a bend that you’re dragging your knee around there’s an excellent chance you’re going to eat shit. Again, doesn’t matter if you’re on a motard or a 1000.

Rider skill can come into play here as you may have a slight chance at correction, if you’re not already sliding across the ground.

Take it to a properly maintained track and you can brag all you want about your lack of chicken strips and plentiful knee dragging.

/chicken strip rant

200 had chicken strips last i checked

Lol, I’ve owned two bikes too my man. Both R6’s :zip

Just picked this thing up

Yea and they both had chicken strips. Pussy

All this chicken strip talk and I’m getting hungry. Bout to take the chopper in my garage to McDonald’s in the rain. With no gear on.

Actually the straight away rant is in regards to the squids who take turns with the bikes nearly upright, and then once the road gets straight, feel the need to hit 150+MPH thinking their hot shit on their motorcycles.

Never did I say I have to get ridiculously low on the street to pass or keep up with riders in turns. Most “riders” can’t ride bikes for shit. Half of them probably can’t even tell you what counter steering means.

I know many people who don’t even ride motorcycles on the street, they strictly ride track-only … because riding on the street in general is reckless. I personally ride well within my means on the street. These NY streets aren’t maintained well enough for me to do aggressive riding. That’s not to say I don’t do spirited riding, but I think it’s safe to say we all enjoy those.

I’ll leave with this…

My post was not directed to you by any means. Just people in general who like to brag about pushing a bike in the turns then bash a person who cares to do a 150 bomb or straight line drag racing (street of course). Both unsafe and mindless in my opinion.

That being said, I will admit that I’ve done my share or “spirited” riding which undoubtedly could be considered reckless for NY roads questionable condition. It’s the risk we take for our enjoyment.
