"Youthful" Cars Being Bought By Seniors

Well, I guess this hasn’t worked out as originally planned. But it seems about right. I never see young people driving these “hip” cars.

The Scrion/Kia stuff is some of the cheapest stuff in the market right now so it would be make sense sales being up.

Scion had (still might) the lowest median age buyer among st all manufacturers. It was 43 years of age.

That’s not what we’re talking about here Rob, lol.

Hahah my bad. I guess I went with the “Senior” cars being sought youthfuls route lol

Back on topic…I think for a while, weren’t they leasing the hamster mobile 5 spd for $89 a month for a while? That might be a big factor to the older crowd getting these too…

Scion had this problem - only old people purchased the xA and xB, but the tC was purchased almost exclusively by teens and 20 somethings, and from anecdotal evidence, 99% of them were slutty girls.

Haha

it was a prerequisite on the financing application i think.

I can see that. A friend has a father in law that picked up a Lexus CT250 in lime puke green. His kids say it is his F&F car.

I was talking with a finance manager I’m friends with, said a lot of older folk are liking and buying the Veloster

Most of my Scion sales are older folks. I think the guy I sold my first XD to was 65+. One thing to think about is Scion is pure priced, no negotiations which a lot of people like because they know it’s the same price everywhere. Then there are the people who just want to grind to the last penny and are pissed that they can’t, lol.

Honda Element was an identical situation.
