actually I read about the real reason lol I just wanted to start up some furry before I said why…

real reason why they went with the LS1 was because they wanted N/A power, that a aftermarket blower was going to put down on the Cobra motor…thats why its a 383 LS1…540rwhp…

they went to a lighter, N/A motor with just as much power as a aftermarket blower terminator because its a road coarse car and on a road coarse, the blower gets some serious heat soak. Being N/A…it eliminates all those heak soak worries. Heat soak was the real reason why they scrapped the 4v motor.

a fully dressed LS1 with the tranny attatched weighs around 520lbs…those 4v motors weigh alot more.
