Zemulator Install

I didn’t document any of this because Ash already has. His diagrams are a little weak but if you have an ECU pinout your’re good to go.

Almost done, it was pretty plug and play.

Couple more connections!

I forgot to grab a shot of everything tucked away, it all fit nicely under the factory cover in the little bit if space that is there.

I haven’t done much of anything yet with it, I need to read more about what I am doing first.[/img][img]

Very cool! Can’t wait to see what you can do with that.

I don’t tend to trust a lot of Ash’s work. I suppose the Zemulator is safe enough because you’ll be using your own tuning parameters. But I don’t quite buy his “expertise” in other things such as EPROM programming, etc.

He’s the kind of guy that will take something like our car’s shop manual as bed-time reading, and then come on to the forums the next day and challenge the well-known established and proven tuners (like Kyle P. and Greg D. for example) and act like he’s an “expert” suddenly. Gimme a break…

What exactly does the system do again? LIke a piggyback that monitors all of your information throughout your driving???

I’ve run his eprom since upgrading my injectors and IC’s with no problems at 18-19psi boost with no problems. Not making the HP I should but still no issues.

Pull your existing eprom out plug this in in ist place, it eliminates the eprom in the ECU and replaces it with an EEPROM (re-writeable/flashable) in the white box, this allows you to write and rewrite your code as you want, or run multiple maps for different grades of fuel, different ambient temps etc…

It does work in real time and changes are perm, I played a little last night took a drive and lowered my rev limiter while driving (I pulled over).

I have a lot to learn about tuning, this just gives me a way to do it now. I was going to go with just an AFC but this is that and more. It also has a way to interface a wideband O2 through the labjack/USB port for future expansion I thnk this will be the ticket to being able to tune properly while at the track and not have to rely on dyno runs.
