Have I told you lately that you suck?
To comment on the Moderator section… You say you have run these huge boards, Well I do and have for some time now. How many of these boards DO NOT have Moderator and Admin sections? It is a necessary thing, sort of like a virtual staff meeting.
As for personal information, it is not our issue that it was posted, it is the person who posts it that is responsible for the content. You should know that too i would think. I do not care if someone posts your name and address along with that of all of your relatives, just as long as they do not attach a kiddie porn image or your social security number and credit report to the thread I am cool with it. Addresses, phone numbers, relatives, and lots of other info are way to easy to dig up online.
<3 you to…
Its not even worth typing an argument. Its a fact. Bing or Josh. should have at least delete posts when a user brings items to there attention when it crosses the line… Instead, All Josh & Bing care about is Marketing. Not like it used to be. Thats fine by me, its $. . Fuck, there Ban happy about everything else. booohooo hooo. Josh would ban me if i say, he loves getting Bananas stuck in his butt. But wont take any action on other things… I dont care about the admin sections. But come on, at least know who you all have in there. I think it was just funny, he didn’t do anything, but likes cracking jokes in there. It is what it is,. he made this post. So i responded.
: large soda and m&m’s : hmm. . . . . this is interesting. . . . . . . . . . . . .
im done responding as i could see this go on all day. maybe it will get deleted if someone reports this thread to a mod
what happened to the good ole days when u just went to fobwells house and tuned him up !!
lol
farmer
its a joke btw
lol, Choko your nuts. This thread actually wasn’t in response to you believe it or not. But we might as well fill everyone else in:
- Someone made a thread linking to a CNET story about Choko getting into some trouble with Facebook. You can see what’s left of the thread HERE.
You can read the CNET article HERE
-
Choko assumes this was posted by one of the NYSpeed mods for some reason, and calls to confront him… Of course, it wasn’t.
-
Choko sends me a PM, but I don’t see that he has until much later that night:
Josh, Bing…
1st off. Delete this thread ASAP. It has been saved.
http://www.nyspeed.com/showthread.ph…-sues-spammers
2nd. I need your ip log for the 24hr period revolving around 2am the 17th.
When people make shit up/start posting personal bs on many diff news site. And a suspect problem person is on Nyspeed/ It becomes a big issue with me.
And yes., 1 of the possible people revolved around this / is a moderator…
Also, ive asked for the thread to be removed. Yet your ‘mods’ seem to not want to…
In the IP files. Do NOT tamper/edit/REMOVE any ips. There are a few possible people in mind who this could be.
eIll give it 48hrs, then ill have my lawyer & me blast off papers to site/admin/owner on record.
Id rather do that then get your box pulled from the rack. Not trying to act hard, but i have enough for a judge to signoff on getting the box. Also, who is maximus33?

Apparently some personal information of his was posted. And since none of the staff have responded to yet, it fuels his assumption that this thread is a conspiracy by the site staff against him.
-
Choko had finds out it was Justin Harmon (not the staff member he thought) who posted his personal stuff under the troll name “fstz06” and also managed to convince him to remove all of the personal posts.
-
At this point I finally see his PM, go to check the thread and see that it’s all edited out. I restore the original post because I have no clue what’s going on. I wait a bit to make sure Choko and “fstz06” are done negotiating a truce, then ban the troll name.
-
Since he threatened to “Pull NYSpeeds Box” clearly in the above PM, I advised the staff not to communicate with him until I heard from his lawyer.
-
Choko sent PMs to the Mods:
apparently you’ve already sent josh a PM about this. making comments about legal action.
I’m not going to get involved in anything threatening legal action.[/QUOTE]
Theres no Threatening.
I asked for info, Him being the registered site owner is why i asked & have legal right to… Nyspeed is small. So that’s why Josh maybe was nervous. If nyspeed was large. He would be used to it with all kinds of issues like many large forums read with…
I found out what i needed. It is pretty messed up. Considering i asked for the thread to be removed. But not 1 Mod, nor admin did.
Instead the person who posted it i found. Had them edit everything with XXXXXXXXXXXXXX. But then you have the other person who had him post that…
Then a mod re edits it and then locks the thread. Still not deleted. Even AFTER Josh read the PM i sent him.
So you see where it stands. Never had an issue with you Mike nor Josh. But learn how to tend to actions.
Cause if you were in my shoes with people posting personal info. Daughter,Address,Other info Etc. Sure you wouldnt be fine. Plus the fact there 2 are on NYspeed & PM’s revolve on NYspeed… And yes you know them Mike.
The lawsuit is more different then you read. Kind of the same situation Josh is in with me
Facebook needs info on clients/users - i refused due to privacy policy/rights. Then i get sued.

If someone posted my personal info I’d want it pulled right away. But you went about things the wrong way. We have zero obligation to provide you with any other members personal information simply because you don’t like what they say. If I had seen your personal information posted I would have pulled it.
As for the original post, which as everyone can see is clearly a legit news story, if you have a problem with their facts you need to take it up with CNET, not us. We didn’t write it. And there is not reason to delete the whole thread just because you don’t like the story.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
You’d think a local car forum wouldn’t have these kinds of problems. Yikes.
You should see what the base of the iceberg looks like.
For the record … Josh is not ban happy at all. I’m WAYYYY more ban happy than he is lol.
true story ^
lol
are there any actual grounds in which to bring legal actions onto a forum? it just sounds foolish
While all law can be interpreted differently, for the most part the answer is no. Look up section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
Yes, say i were to create a forum that looked exactly like another forums with a domain name say a letter off. Then i used the login page to sniff password information. That would be illegal.
If I were to directly name this board FORD Forums I would be violating trademark lawas and would expect Ford to have their way with me in court.
Posting that say “Bing is a convicted Child Molester” and spreading false pretenses without factual basis would be grounds for a lawsuit against me personally, not against the moderators, admins, sponsors or other affiliates. Posting that I think people who threaten to sue forums are faggot Rtards is not however grounds to sue for anything.
You sure?
The 1st example Mike cited has nothing to do with the instances addressed by this thread.
lol@this.
srsly
Fuck you guys, I’m calling my lawyer and he’s gonna beat up your lawyer’s ass!
