BAHAHAHAHAH!!! the GTI is NOT worth it over the rabbit. I had a GTI all loaded up. Sold it and got a rabbit.
The rabbit comes in at a smooth $15k out the door… GTI starts at 23ish… and can go all the way up to above 30k… $5k my ass.

Out the door w/ tax @ 15 and you’d be doing REALLY REALLY REALLY good. Like 3000 below invoice.

the friend who got one earlier this year had the dealer “split holdback with him” and paid 15,xxx for a new 08 2 door 5 speed with heated seats etc… (but he leased over 3 years for like $220/mo, nothing down, sign and drive)
and when I say you can buy the GTI parts from people who have upgraded for cheap, I mean really cheap, like $200-$400 for all the suspension stuff and swaybars…
I find the rabbit more fun to drive around town because it has so much more torque available down low.

The base gti is way more loaded up than a rabbit.

comparing your deal on a GTI to sticker on a rabbit is just not fair.
Yeah, but yours is a 2 door, right? And no sales tax because you traded in your gti, so it’s not that crazy. My 4 door is 18 out the door with 2K higher on trade than anywhere else.
Newman have you gone and test drove one yet? Test drive it and if you like it then search around for pricing.
I <3 my GTI for a DD and I test drove at least a dozen other cars. I was given an auto Rabbit for a loaner car the one day when I was getting an iPod dock added from the dealer and I don’t think I could handle driving the Rabbit as a DD but then again it was a base featureless Rabbit and auto.
my gf has a 5spd base 2 dr rabbit and honestly its super fun to drive maybe you just didnt like the fact it was auto. i always have a blast driving it…
