05 altima steering wheel shudder

So i’m driving today and get a flat tire. I had to drive approx 200’ from when it went flat to a safe spot to pull over. so i take a look and somehow i had a canada post mail key stuck in the tire. So i put on the donut and take the tire to kal tire. One of my buddies there fixed it right away cause i was late for a funeral. They were really busy and couldnt put the tire back on the car. So i go home put the tire back on, no problems, torques good. So i’m on my way to edmonton for the funeral and in leduc at speeds under 70k fine no problems. However once i get onto the highway the steering wheel starts to shudder and its progressive with increased speed. I thought maybe I didnt get all the nuts tight enough so i pull over and tighten them yet again… but still same thing. Being late i crept along at 80k. so after i come home jack up the car again take off the tire and look at everything everything seems to be fine. nothings loose or has any play. I clean all the snow out from under there and put the tire back on. Now it still shudders and i’m not sure what could be wrong
Any ideas??

They did not ballance it correctly

i thought about that but seeing as my buddy did it I’m pretty sure he balanced it. I’ll call him tomorrow to find out

Just because he ballanced it does not make it done correctly

If they were in a hurry, they may have just mounted it without doing a balance to get you on your way. I know a Tirecraft location did that to my Dad one day when he was in a hurry…

What they sometimes do is they mark the location of the weights on the front and back of the tire, then after they are done repairing the tire they can just put the tire back on without having to rebalance, personally I never do this because it only take1 min to rebalance a tire.

Agreed, also if it was patched thats adds weight making the old weight position nothing more than useless lines.

Thats exactly it they actually called me first thing this morning to tell me to bring it in.
got it balanced :E

It was nice of them to call you…

yeah i was actually suprised. They didn’t even charge me for the balance. Pretty sweet :thumb
