Hey all, this will be a build thread where I will be asking for advice as well as a DIY (hopefully). I still have plenty of tools and parts to purchase so I ask you all to bare with me as this will be a long drawn out process and wont be finished for quite some time. I will update with pics and progress when I can, thanks for looking.
Here are some pics. I purchased a set of used 04 TSX headlights with clear lens projector. I removed the projectors from the housing and then resold the housings. I also purchased a set of used 09 Si headlights so my car has headlights while the other set undergoes the retrofit.
So I sold a set of wheels last week and ordered my matsushita ballasts, phillips 4300k bulds, e46 shrouds, and relay harness. I also removed my headlights and put in the replacement set so I can still drive my car while I do the retrofit. Time to start baking my headlights.
Got the second headlight opened up, reflector cut, and both projectors mounted. Now I need to disassemble both of them and wash all the parts, reassemble, aim, trim and mount shrouds, reseal both lights and install.
The output on those is junk! I’m using acura TSX projectors in my setup. While they are not the best money can buy, They blow just about any of these type of cheap headlights out of the water. Not to mention my new setup will be using D2S bulbs. Not sure what those lights use.
