So, Haenszel was bored today and I managed to talk him into going to pick up one of my Sparco bracket for the Evo II that has been sitting in my room for a couple weeks. In the process of making him an hour late to work, we picked up ~$10 in hardware, a set of Sparco sliders and a simple custom bracket that came with the seats. After a bit of welding, some grinding and some paint, this is the result.
Very fat kid friendly. It’s about the sturdiest chair I’ve even been in.

He’s still mostly in one piece. He was over here tonight complaining that he thinks he broke his nose. B-Han says he faceplanted into a garbage can, which may explain the nose problems. Toner is fixing the problem with more gin.

I did the same thing with a ‘race’ seat. it sucks. its way to high and with the supports at the sides of the ass you can barely touch the floor.
This one is a bit high, but not too bad. At the lowest setting, I’m maybe 2" higher than I normally sat with my office chair. I’d love to have some adjustment, but it isn’t necessary.
Could always put you desk up on blocks…
