some pics from rausch creek this weekend… I have a ton of video to edit later and upload…
these shots are from the trail named affliction… it was pretty epic
sway bars installed… exhaust cleared nicely… testing this Friday in Virginia
also added cables to clear branches and bush…
I always look forword to updates on this thread and you never disappoint. A+ build I really need to get my X out on some trails.
Are there things that you realize you’ll need to add / design only after you’re out on the trail? Like the window cables?
thanks! and you should get out more its a riot!
yes a lot of stuff I need to do still… haha sway bars was a big one. that might fix a lot of other things that are bugging me
Conclave trip in Virginia
trail called Corum’s special it was awesome…
LR3 on corums
fc101 on corums
clip of a pretty rough section of the trail…looks way easier than it actually is lol
how do u post videos here?
use [video] tags and put the URL for the video between them. Or use the video button above the text box. Shortened YouTube links or YouTube “embed” links won’t work.
Damn you were less than 15 minutes away from me for this, I woulda loved to see this thing in person/action.
Ugh… im blown away by this thing every time I step into this thread. A+ work.
Build it —> Beat it. I love that you are enjoying your project.
:word:
fixed everything last night with some help from my brother. I made a new bracket design as I should have from the beginning… patched frame and installed new shock… the old one was a mother fucker, we couldn’t get springs off with spring compressors or any other way, so we tried to plasma cut the shock shaft- couldn’t fit the cutter in-between springs… next up sawzall which melted the blades instantly… lastly ended up hacksawing hardened shock shafts forever… it was terrible
broke more shit last time I went out… I must of fractured the top link tubing from the jump last time and didnt see it before I went to rausch to run it… so it eventually failed >>> lots of damage… lower crank pully, steering ram mounts, steering hoses, drive shaft, yoke bearing, brake lines, belts, all tubing on housing destroyed (granted I should of made it thicker walled) lol
got some welding done… still not done tho… had to do a lot of fab to get gussets to fit so I made my wife do it… all that’s left is the top link mount now.
removed rear bulkhead or whatever you want to call it… re-bracing and ties
to frame incoming
also got some amazing lights from Lucky8… So I will be redoing my front
headlight buckets as well.
