Wasn’t planning on doing this ever, but i just don’t have time to make it the nicest daily driver like i wanted. I bought the car this past summer and went straight into maintenance. No messing around.
Its my '95 TSi, that ive been driving daily to work and home. 122,XXX on the odo and has the original 7bolt motor. LSD rear end. Maroon in color. Nice clean leather interior.
Car is pretty much stock, just a aftermarket downpipe and a ws-1 exhaust that was on the car when i bought it. Has a intake and 1g bov. Also has dsmlink v2.5.
Some maintenance would include-
-New Walbro 190 fuel pump. Oct '09
-New OEM timing belt, balance shaft belt and all new oem components(tensioner and pulleys) and replaced crank seal. Aug '09
-Brand new crankshaft position sensor from Mitsu-Aug '09.
(Old one died after 15 years of wear and tear)
-NGK Plug wires and NGK bpr6es spark plugs gapped at stock .028. Aug '09
-OEM Clutch master and slave cylinders. Jun '09.
-OEM valve cover gasket and OEM PCV valve. Aug '09.
-All fluids(cooling system, tranny, transfer case, rear end, brake and clutch) flushed. Aug '09.
And more i can’t remember off the top of my head.
My plan was to get the car to run 100%, with some help i have.
Motor runs strong, since ive owned it, not one drop of oil was burned. I never had to top off the oil and i change the oil every 3k with castrol gtx.
Motor doesn’t have crankwalk. Crank end play measured at .007. Which is within standard limits for a 7 bolt 4g63.
Turbo is the stock t-25, has 0 shaft play, boosts well. No smoke.
Tranny is a lower mileage swap, original one had internal failure.
And no strut tower rot or rust.
Well on to the bad:
Car is 15 years old and not perfect. Its been driven through Rochester winters so it has some rust underneath, not bad.
Some asshole hit my drivers side door and ran. “Hit and run” Door has a ding. I was gonna replace the door and paint it but no time.
Turbo motor has the common little oil leak, not much to where you have to top off oil but you will notice it. I replaced the oil return line gasket and used
rtv but that didn’t last long.
Car needs new struts and probably rear shocks. You can hear clunks. I had a nice set but sold them.
When i bought the car the shifter cables were seized so i replaced them with another set i had and they worked fine. Now the rubber boot on them is ripping so when you shift sometimes into second its not smooth. But dsm tranny’s don’t shift like butter never.
The walbro fuel pump was not rewired, this was so the fuel pressure isn’t much more then the stock base pressure on stock fuel setup.
I am trying to be as honest about the car as i can. Since ive owned this car, i have never beat on it. Its just not in me, i drive like an old lady. Withthat said, never redlined it always shift early never raced it, i have no reason to. Those who know me can attest to this. Gary has also worked on my car.
Car is located in Grand Island. I don’t do test drive unless, the person has money. Cause i don’t have time for joy rides.
I’d like to get 3200 FIRM, just cause of the lowballs. My asking price is not crazy due to the car running well and plus its got dsmlink which runs for $600.
If i don’t get what i want then i’ll keep it.
