Got some of the AC wiring done. Had the motor fully in, but had to take it partially back out to solder something. Waiting for silicone to seal over night and the motor will be in again tomorrow.

if you can try dropping subframe we did that on the bimmer. made life really easy otherwise looking good.

Haven’t bothered to update or take pics, but the motor is in, trans tunnel is hammered out, tranny is ready to go back in (was in, but wouldn’t mount right because the trans was hitting the tunnel,) fuel and cooling and both “done” (lower rad hose just needs assembled/put on.) Got the throttle cable and mount modified a bit today, that’s done now.

Need to start on the wiring, maybe tomorrow?

Have fun wiring, I hate doing it, want to wire my rx7 for a case of beer, lol. Looks good nontheless, you got done fast. What did you end up doing for the driveshaft?

I had the Miata done in a month, and that was with delays on shipping and stuff. I think I could’ve had that on the road with a week or two with the parts all in front of me.

This is taking much longer, but working full time and doing 90% of it by yourself makes it a bit harder (I had a friend help with a lot of the Miata build.)

The wiring shouldn’t be that bad. The previous owner labeled every single wire for the SR swap. It’s mostly a find, cut, solder type of deal at this point. Plus, the LS1 only needs what, like 7 or 8 wires hooked up

I’m having the current driveshaft shortened and the T56 yoke attached when I take it to Jeff’s for the header build.

maybe he can make yours on the 1st try, mine took 2 tries. Did you get a slim steering shaft?

Yea, car had one in it from the SR swap.

Bad ass.

Ps. Sell me those wheels

Headers done, my modified frankenshifter is done, some bits on cooling still need buttoned up (steam port from throttle body,) driveshaft is done, some other misc is done.

Still needs - wired, header-back exhaust, power steering lines, AC (which I’ll do over the winter,) intake tube, gauges, and little misc things tightened and gone over.

nice congrats on getting it fired up.

congrats on the fire up!

Single handedly the best sounding Z3 Ive ever heard. Im sure you’ll get quite a few WTF moments at traffic lights.

Jesse W: “I put LSX engines in cars”

When I see a new thread from Jesse I know to expect to end with him stuffing a big GM motor into something.

Me last night. Only I just went around the block and wasn’t spinning tires (sick though, I know.)

Car is “complete,” just needs an inspection, front end alignment, and plate renewal.

lol nice jesse. will be ready for next spring!

i feel like i have just been rick rolled.

is it for sale yet?

Always. Are you saying for the right price you wouldn’t sell the Evo?
