1997 Cobra vs 1994 Z28 **Video**

It’s been a while since I’ve posted up anything new, so here’s a little match I set up between my brother and my friend.

Both cars have mild bolt-on setups. The Cobra is a stick car (obviously) and the Z28 is an automatic. The Z28 also has an electric waterpump, which I forgot to add to the mod list in the video.

The Cobra belongs to dvj38 on SVTP and the Z28 is my brother’s.

As usual, I apologize for the watermark and for the inevitable hatred of the music.

Thanks for watching, guys! :beer

Not the outcome I expected at all, nice runs

nice man.

what was the car that came by the cobra in the first dig video?

my kind of racing , diggums and slowwww rolsss

Yea i totally expected that Cobra to dominate

Good vids! I thought Cobra might have done better with those gears.

diggums? I know what you mean, but it sounds terrible.

My brother’s friend in his SRT-4.

Seems to be the general consensus :dunno

That dig run was lost on the launch. I think a good launch and things would get very interesting.

Yea that Cobra sucks. I raced one very recently with my car and I rocked him, but not THAT hard and my car is a 113 trap in current form.

bolt on B headed cobras are DOGGS.

I expected the results to be the opposite. Cobra should have came out of the hole like a beast with 4.30 gears. Probably couldn’t hook worth shit tho.

Those cobras are slow as shittttt. Nice runs though!! If my cars ever done id like to come down for sure.

The Cobra in this video has run 13.4 @ 104 mph, but he only got 3 passes on it.

I’d love to do a get together, even though my Z28 is down. I’ve been playing with the G8 a little and it’s fun as hell!

I was just at LVD Wednesday, but only got 1 pass before it rained. I might try and go up again this Wednesday.

Nah, zero low end power with the B headed 4.6’s when NA

whats wrong with the z28? I thought you just had it up and running?

It was running awesome and I was having a blast with it, right up until the timing chain broke and all the valves bent :wow

what timing chain did you have in it?

Just the stock one. When I did the cam swap (in 2005), I was lazy and didn’t want to have to pull the oil pump to swap the chain. I probably would have been fine, but I think all the nitrous runs put a beating on the chain and it finally gave up the ghost.

hmmm no shit. Thats exactly why when I had my cam installed I had a ported ls6 oil pump installed and a ls2 timing chain. At the moment I am looking at a double roller timing chain setup.

Says the guy who uses the term “diggums”.
